The Business of Government is to Promote Happiness or Business?

The developer who built your subdivision had the street lights put in, numskull.

Because of 'free markets' or Gov't requiring it? lol

You really think a developer would build a subdivision without street lights?

YES, most that's the last thing they install. Ever go to BK developments and the infrastructure left to install, but houses still sold? lol

It's the last thing they install? That's your argument? Actually, streets, sidewalks and street lights are the first thing they install, before any houses are built.

You don't know shit from Shinola.

Nope, generally the last. They don't want heavy equipment fucking it up. 30+ years in the trades Bubba

Curbs, gutters and underground utilities yes,

Either way, the developer puts them in, not the city.

Why haven't your "progressive policies" created a middle class in Venezuela or Cuba?

The 3rd world nations? Why hasn't capitalism? lol

They don't have Capitalism in Venezuela or Cuba.

Right I forgot IF they sell anything it's strictly bartering, lol

Huh? If they have a currency that means they are capitalist? Really?

You SERIOUSLY trying to say Venezuela isn't capitalist? lol

Hmmm, yes. The president of Venezuela says that.

Since big business controls our gov't I would say the gov't is working hard to give big business anything it wants.

The greatest economic boon for the middle class was 1956 under pro-Union Republicans. What happened since?
What happened was that Asia and Europe was able to rebuild and compete while Americans got fat, dumb and happy.

90% of Europe/Asia rebuilt by 1955 and 100% by 1960.

WITH AMERICA'S FUNDS, BTW

lol

What an ignoramus. Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan were all still wallowing in poverty in 1960.

What "American funds" are you referring to?

You mean thanks to them being 3rd world areas to begin with, NOTHING to do with the war? lol

Marshall Plan - Wikipedia the free encyclopedia

You said they were rebuilt by 1955. Now you seem to saying exactly the opposite. Which is it? Where they rebuilt or not?

FYI, the entire world was third world to begin with.

Let me clarify since you are a dishonest POS, 90% + of Europe/Asia's MANUFACTURING and Biz infrastructure was rebuilt by 1955 and 100% of everything by 1960. Simple to understand, IF you were honest!

Don't all you liberal turds claim that socialism created the middle class in this country? Why doesn't that work in Venezuela or Cuba?

Because they are third world countries controlled by people that want to keep the voting public ignorant. That question the worth of their working class. That want to defund public education. That want to promote economic values for some on the backs of others.

Sound familiar?

I just noticed you were including Europe. Where did you come up with this 90% figure? BTW, it was not thanks to the Marshal plan. And all the countries of Western Europe were 1st world before the war, so it's no surprise that they returned to their former status after the war. However, the same isn't the case for the countries of Eastern Europe. Explain that.

AND? Hitler said Nazi's were socialists, too, lol

Someday there will be the 1 percent but everyone will have a job..no unemployment..everyone makes $12 an hour and is to be thankful for the great job. That's where we are headed. Then we see things hit the fan big time.

Isn't that how you turds always describe the United States?

Marshall Plan (officially the European Recovery Program, ERP) was the American initiative to aid Europe, in which the United States gave $17 billion (approximately $160 billion in current dollar value) in economic support to help rebuild European economies after the end of World War II. The plan was in operation for four years beginning in April 1948. The goals of the United States were to rebuild war-devastated regions, remove trade barriers, modernize industry, and make Europe prosperous again.

The Marshall Plan required a lessening of interstate barriers, a dropping of many petty regulations constraining business, and encouraged increase productivity, labour union membership, and the adoption of modern business procedures. The Marshall Plan aid was divided amongst the participant states on a roughly per capita basis.

The Marshall Plan was originally scheduled to end in 1953. Any effort to extend it was halted by the growing cost of the Korean War and rearmament. American Republicans hostile to the plan had also gained seats in the 1950 Congressional elections, and conservative opposition to the plan was revived. Thus the plan ended in 1951, though various other forms of American aid to Europe continued afterwards.

The years 1948 to 1952 saw the fastest period of growth in European history. Industrial production increased by 35%.

They got it from the wealth that was created and taxed. You think government creates wealth with printing presses. It doesn't work that way. Money has to be based on assets, the assets come from wealth, business creates wealth by producing goods and services.

The government provides infrastructure that allows business to build a platform to create wealth. Without government, businesses wouldn't prosper.
