the "Bush Doctrine" and the Arab Spring.

The 'Arab Spring' is owned, lock stock and barrel, by Obama.

He screwed up.

Not that he would ever admit it.

Except he didn't screw up.

What ... you are going to blame Hillary?

Obama screwed the pooch again. It was all supposed to be a pristine utopian universe with lots of pretty flowers and happy music.

As usual, the reality never met the promise, and the promise was the source of its own demise.

Sure he didn't.

You'll never admit he screwed up in a million years.

I think what the people in the ME want is democracy with varying degrees of theocracy, depending on their brand of Islam. Turkey tends to be more secular.

Afganistan had a nasty theocracy with the Taliban but I don't think the people are strong enough there to keep the Taliban at bay after we leave.

The Arab Spring was being praised last year and people wanted to give Bush some credit with his "Sowing the seeds of democracy in Irag".

Now that it has blown up, its time to blame Obama.

I think Libya wants a more secular democracy since they seem to have more European influence. The Islamic Brotherhood is stronger in Egypt.

We will have to see in time how all the varying ME countries approach democracy, all differently no doubt.

It will be the Arab Summer, Fall and Winter .... :eusa_shhh:
