Sometimes laws are passed that are not enforceable. If the real reason to stop illegal border crossings is to prevent terrorism and drug runners..then what we should do is make it easier to distinguish the bad ones from the harmless ones. We just cannot gaurd all of our borders in the sense that we can can prevent all intrusion. There are just to many of them. That is a fact. Get used to it. What we could do is identify who is harmless and make it easy to come across. They could enter past drug sniffing dogs with bar coded ID cards and a frisk. That would make the borders more manageable knowing that those that try to cross illegally are up to no good. If we could take the numbers of illegals down to a few hundred the sensors and human resourses could manage the problem.
