Yesterday at the United Nations, Barack Obama renounced Pax Americana, signaling an end to the United States' role as global cop.

Albert Einstein was a lifelong pacifist until Hitler came along. Then, after fleeing for his very life from Nazi Germany he became the man who told the FDR White House about nuclear bombs, together with physicist Leo Szilard, to get the Manhattan Project started. That letter to FDR was dated August 2, 1939. It warned that "extremely powerful bombs of a new type may ... be constructed. A single bomb of this type, carried by boat and exploded in a port, might very well destroy the whole port together with some of the surrounding territory."

Einstein loved peace, but when reality forced him to choose he signed that letter to FDR because he was afraid that Hitler would get there first. Today we are facing Einstein's choice again. There is a genocidal regime in Tehran. They follow an ideology of unapologetic imperialistic expansionism, marked by hundreds of thousands of mind-numbed followers chanting "Death to America! Death to Israel!" -- every single day since 1979. All the liberals are in full denial. They say all those chants don't really mean anything. They are not fully sane.

American Thinker: The blessings of Pax Americana, the good cop

Meanwhile our own president is proclaiming the end of Pax Americana, the most successful peace-keeping policy in human history. He publicly denies the plain and obvious lessons of history. The fascist regime in Tehran would not even exist were it not for the abject failures of another president in exactly the same mold, the blighted Jimmy Carter.

Haven't we gone broke fighting a useless war in Iraq?

Are you really this stupid?

No. If we've gone broke is through massive wasteful spending and corruption. Of which, more has been done in the last 9 months than ever before.

Bullshit.

Reagan and Bush created the vast majority of the National Debt by reducing taxes for the rich and wasting money on the military.

I say let's load up, fly over there and drop some of those great big bombs on 'em we've had in warehouses for years just gathering dust. Anybody that bitches about it should get a couple of 'em too. Fuck 'em. Bring all the troops home, out of harms way, and let's nuke 'em. We need to get this WW III started now so I can live to see how it all turns out. Getting tired of all the political bullshit that goes with this whole mess. Let's end it now. Who's with me on this?:eusa_whistle:

I disagree. Any money spent on the military is an investment in patriotism!

The problem with war is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money.

An investment on the military under the present circumstances is a form of welfare designed to enrich KBR, Halliburton and othe war profiteers.

That statement could work in a lot of ways. For instance:

The problem with free health care is that sooner or later you run out of other people's money.

so we aren't going to play world police anymore? maybe the founding fathers didn't completely waste their time writing all that advice they gave us.
