Nice, insults instead of facts. The 'science' of CFC failed to explain how they are capable of interacting with the upper atmosphere when they are quite a bit heaver than air.

Ozone itself is heavier than air as well, maybe you'd like to explain to us how it ends up in the upper atmosphere, smarty pants.

And why doesn't it all just fall down to the lower atmosphere, since its heavier than O2 and Nitrogen?

Well, yeah! It's only in the last 150 years that massive amounts of CO2 and other gases have been vented into the atmosphere by man. THAT'S what needs to be studied, to see if it's effecting the climate. What happened millions or billions of years ago is largely irrelevant, as the conditions were much different then. Just because temps went up and down for other reasons in the past, does not mean that we couldn't be causing the current rise. Looking into the past only helps in being able to subtract out the effects from other sources, the remainder being the effect of man.

An interesting point here is how the deniers instantly start this refrain of geological history, but refuse to accept what geological history actually tells us about rapid increases in GHGs.

Also, they will state that it is all so complex, then in the next breath, state that if CO2 is the cause, how come that the temperature still reflects natural variation over even the rapid rise of the last fifty years.

And most seem to have no concept of the inertia in the system that says that even were we to stop emitting GHGs now, there would be another 30 to 50 years of warming.

In fact, the deniars not only would deny all that science has shown in the last 190 years concerning GHGs, they actively seek to delegitimize science, period.

Geological history shows that man didn't cause global warming. It also tells us that large temperature shifts have happened repeatedly. Mass extinctions from asteroids aside, the planet and its inhabitants have been here a very long time dispite the climate changes.

If we do that we have no frame of reference to judge what effect we are having if any. And then we will allow a tax on life and limits to energy resources for third world countries who cannot afford or lack the expertise to create alternative sources.

Or maybe the fact that no matter what happens, it's somehow evidence that global warming exists. If it doesnt snow much, it's "evidence" for global warming. If it snows alot, it's "evidence" for global warming. The temp goes up: Global warming. The temp goes down: Global warming. More hurricanes: Global warming. Less hurricanes: Global warming. The warming of the planet is going to cause the next Ice age.

Oh and the magical cure for global warming is *gasp* socialism! What an amazing coincidence that the laws and regulations people rejected as socialism are the exact same laws and regulations we need to "stop" global warming.

Seriously, people aren't stupid. There is more science in phrenology then there is in global warming. And that's not much at all.

Maybe you should actually provide evidence for Global warming. You can start by providing scientific evidence demonstrating what tempature the earth is supposed to be. Which wont be easy since the earth has been shifting tempatures for billions of years.

But as you've already convinced yourself that global warming is science and deluded yourself into thinking that science is never wrong, I doubt you'll ever even consider that. But if global warming is so scientific, you wouldnt have to make up evidence.

Scientists can be wrong or right, but you can safely assume that when hundreds or thousands of scientists (who have proven themselves more than you have) all over the world agree on something that it might be an important issue. In the end Science has provided us with much of the modern inventions we take for granted (including the computer/internet/... you use to communicate your message), so it would be moronic to claim that science is a problem when you disagree with what the result of the scientific conclusions are (as many seem to do).

The conclusion is not based only upon a curve curve of pollution going up and up as you seem to simplify it, it is based upon many different studies and not just the relation between increase of pollution and increase in temperature. So NO, it s not just the pretty curve that Al Gore may have showed you.

The nonsense about socialism here is again very disturbing as it shows people on this forum to be extremely paranoid about something you know little about (have you ever been to a "socialist" country?)

Real science fans want accuracy. Not using the quote function, which only you do on a regular basis, shows a lazy mind and a certain amount of disrespect and dishonesty in my opinion. For your information you can do some editing of the quote feature to delete the first post quoted and other methods to shorten the message. Experiment with it in the advanced mode. You might find your happier with the results and the rest of us will appreciate it too.
