THE BAY OF PIGS 56 YEARS LATER

When U.S. airstrikes could have destroyed a terrorist regime, freed a nation and altered history.

Where are the planes?!” kept crackling over U.S. Navy radios exactly 56 years ago this week. The U.S. Naval armada (22 ships including the Carrier Essex loaded with deadly Skyhawk jets.) was sitting 16 miles off the southern Cuban coast near an inlet known as Bahia de Cochinos (Bay of Pigs). The question — bellowed between blasts from a Soviet artillery and tank barrage landing around him — came from commander Jose San Roman.

“Send planes or we can’t last!” San Roman kept pleading to the very fleet that escorted his men to the beachhead (and sat much closer to them than the U.S. destroyers Porter and Ross sat to the Syrian coast this week.) Meanwhile the Soviet artillery barrage intensified, the Soviet T-34 and Stalin tanks closed in, and San Roman’s casualties piled up.

By that date the terrorists who ran (and still run) Cuba had been operating terror-training camps for two years, had kidnapped, tortured and murdered dozens of American (to say nothing of tens of thousands of Cubans.) A year later they wantonly brought Western civilization a whisker from nuclear destruction. If foreign terrorists ever merited a MOAB, it was these-- based 90 miles from U.S. shores.

...

When the smoke cleared and their ammo had been expended to the very last bullet, when a hundred of them lay dead and hundreds more wounded, after three days of relentless battle, barely 1,400 of them—without air support (from the U.S. Carriers just offshore) and without a single supporting shot by naval artillery (from U.S. cruisers and destroyers poised just offshore)—had squared off against 21,000 Castro troops, his entire air force and squadrons of Soviet tanks. The Cuban freedom-fighters inflicted over 3000 casualties on their Soviet-armed and led enemies. This feat of arms still amazes professional military men.

“They fought magnificently and were not defeated,” stressed Marine Col. Jack Hawkins a multi-decorated WWII and Korea vet who helped train them. “They were abandoned on the beach without the supplies and support promised by their sponsor, the Government of the United States.”

The objective people who have followed this poster know this troll is paid shill of Israel on their payrollll so they of course now have sent him to lie and and withhold key facts that it was the CIA's planning that led to this disater.

He withholds facts that JFK INHERITED the bay of pigs invasion from Eisenhower. That it was all planned under him and that the plan they presented to Eisenhower was vastly different than the one presented to Kennedy.

The one they presented to Eisenhower was designed to succeed because the then vice president under CIA covert operations was none other than DICK Nixon. The CIA thought their man Nixon was going to get elected and had the plan designed to be a success, the one they presented to Eisenhower but when he did not get elected as they thought he would, they changed the plan.they lied to kennedy telling him they would have the required troops and air support needed to succeed assuring him military involvement was NOT needed. when that did not happen, they tried to trick him into ordering an all out invasion.Kennedy did not go along with it and refused.

It was a good thing we DID have the failed bay of pigs invasion because kennedy learned after that mistake to not listen to the military and its top advisors and he stopped listening to them and started listening to what his aides gave advise to him on which was critical during the cuban missile crisis because had kennedy listened to the military who told him to go bomb Russia, that would have started WWIII and this troll would not be here to post this disinformation here. had Nixon been president back then, that bastard WOULD have bombed Russia as the military wanted him to be and he and the rest of us would not be here yet.

this video here is just a start of the REAL truth of the pay of pigs invasion and how the CIA LIED to Kennedy about everything they said they would do.

It never gets old taking this troll to school all the time.:D

Like the man says so well in the video below, the failed invasion by the "CIA". the same evil organization that is still around today starting wars in the middle east.Kennedy fired Allen Dulles head of that bay of pigs invasion cause he deliberatly LIED to him about the invasion assuring him how it would succeed KNOWING it would fail.

Damn, has it been 56 years? How could a democrat administration get away with planning a freaking invasion of a sovereign country by using the CIA to raise and train and house and equip a freaking army? The short answer is that the quirky relationship between his freaking brother who he appointed as A.G. and the willingness by the crooked conspiracy in the left wing media to support the Camelot kingdom no matter what, led to the disaster at the Bay of Pigs and later the craziness of the Cuban Missile crisis that led to "devcon2" for the only time in history.

Yep an horrific decision by JFK. As despicable a thing as the U.S. has ever done.

That said, the embargo has failed. It's time to expose Cuba to capitalism.

There is only one part of your post that I take serious issue with.

"It was a good thing we DID have the failed bay of pigs invasion because kennedy learned after that mistake to not listen to the military and its top advisors and he stopped listening to them and started listening to what his aides gave advise to him on which was critical during the cuban missile crisis because had kennedy listened to the military who told him to go bomb Russia, that would have started WWIII and this troll would not be here to post this disinformation here. had Nixon been president back then, that bastard WOULD have bombed Russia as the military wanted him to be and he and the rest of us would not be here yet."

If the US had followed thru with its promise, there very likely would have never been a Cuban missile crisis.

You almost gotta choke on your coffee when you see JFK defenders blame the U.S. Military for the incredible mess and criminal conspiracy that led to thepolitical and military failure of the Bay of Pigs. The dirty little secret is that Russian boomer subs had the same capability as the missile silos on Cuba and JFK created a crisis out of nothing while the Berlin Wall was under construction and North Korea was a threat.

The President Kennendy turned chicken and called off the attack and left the people to die on the beach. You are right. Why this happened I have not idea and we will never know the question WHY. The press never investigated it and really did nothing to find the truth. But they cover his butt for most of the time he was in office after all he was the darling of the Media.
