The Battle Between Faith And Reason

Faith is only reasonable if the probability of cause & effect is high based on observational or other objective evidence.

Religions are not reasonable.
Scientific investigations are.

I agree with a slight modification. Religion served a purpose in the early development of humankind, but we are in a transition away from the superstitious beliefs thanks to the ever exploding, impossible-to-refute success of science and knowledge. The idea that science and reason are less “moral” is bigotry and self-imposed blindness. The problem is not science and technology which is actually sweepingly majestic, but in the perception of people being trained to think feelings and superstitious belief are more reliable than reason.
First of all they were never superstitious beliefs. That's your bias.

Secondly, if it were as you say, then according to Darwin it would have played out long ago.

It is because we live forever that life has value.
You believe life has value as a driving test has value. It's a means to an end but has no intrinsic value of it's own.
No. You have to understand how rare and precious life is in the universe to even get a glimpse of the rare and precious gift that life is. Then you would need to understand how even more rare intelligent life is.

Only then can you possibly begin to understand the cosmic lottery that we have all won. It's just that some of us, like you, are ungrateful.
