The Base: Do they mind what the GOP Leadership has done to them?

The Republicans have plenty of poor. Orin Hatch says the poor must pay more.

Eric Cantor talking about the Mid West survivors of those Tornadoes, saying that we need to take a longer look at whether they should be helped after such natural disasters.

The death panels set up in Arizona to deny state residents life saving operations because of the cost.

Turning Medicare into a "voucher" program.

Tom Coburn wanting to cut funding for Tricare which cares for injured and disabled veterans.

Many Republicans are unemployed.

Many Republicans are without health care.

This is the Republican Base. Their leadership only talks to them when it's time to get re-elected.

Does this bother the base at all?

(please Republicans, instead of complaining about links, use Google, it's not that hard, and there is nothing here we haven't linked to a dozen times at least)

The REAL problem with the GOP leadership is they're RINOs who've played footsie with the leftwing for decades, resulting in the current economic disasters.

I think the thing is, most of us on the base don't see government as the solution, given their poor track record. They usually end up spending a lot of money and things are usually worse than when they started.

Take the Stimulus. nearly a trillion dollars spent over 3 years, and despite claims unemployment wouldn't get over 8%, it's never been below 9% and the Stimulus turned into a payoff to the states to keep the International Brotherhood of Lazy Government Workers employed.

Seems some Republicans knew how to spend stimulus money, the part that was money. Remember, 35 to 40% were tax cuts. We know how well those worked.

Stimulating Hypocrisy: 114 Lawmakers Block Recovery While Taking Credit For Its Success

What's funny is the number of "good" things they found to spend the money one. Roads, bridges, broadband, upgrading railroads, etc.

Did you keep your share of the Bush tax cuts that you hate so much, or did you insist the government keep it?

Did you send the tax cuts you got from Obama back because it is stupid to cut taxes in the middle of tow wars?

Unless the answer to both of those questions is yes you have no business trying to call anyone else out for what they do with government money.
