whew.. good thing mac got his peeps in line... dow down 777...

13 dems out of 95 voting no could have "saved" it.

Don't blame the GOP when the base doesn't want it; blame the dems for not being able to running their House, let alone their party.

Boener said he could deliver 77-85.... had he not said this, nancy would not have called for the vote... Boener could not deliver on what he promised... this was not the democrats bill... we did not have to support it... we only promised to deliver half the total amount... we instead delivered much more, some 40 more actually... many dems did not feel there were enough protections for the little man. So they could not nor should have voted for the bill. The shortcomings with this bill and the vote therein solely rest on the shoulders of Bohener.

Oh and Mac...

RENO, Nev. (AP) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama is calling for Americans to get behind attempts to salvage a $700 billion rescue plan for the financial sector.
Apparently Obama couldn't even get 13 dems, not even in the extremely safe districts of the Congressional Black Caucus, to support the bill.

To blame the GOP for not supporting a bill the GOP base despises is just silly.

The Democratic base doesn't want it either. And according to the Republicans, they changed their mind cause they got their feelings hurt. Poor babies, putting their feelings ahead of what they think is good for the country. So, yeah, I think we can blame them.

Except they don't think it's good for the country.
