We could have handled Iraq much differently. Of course this is easy to say since we now have hindsight. Had we known then what we know now. At any rate we should not have disbanded the Iraqi Military 100%. That was our biggest mistake.

We still can defeat Iran or N K easily enough if we needed to.

Virtually every decision made under Rumsfeld's tenure was a mistake. The man was a moron.

The Army sure as hell (post '98) knew the fight of the future was going to be LIC in an urban terrain. That's why MOUT was added as an essential task for maneuver units and bases built MOUT sites.

Going into Iraq ensured an insurgent fight.

It would be no different, and probably worse, in Korea and Iran. Insurgency is the nature of warfare in the 21st century.

seems you never worked in the gas fields right vet? oil where I am at is not a good thing, 2 or 3 barrels a day adds up and must be pumped off so it doesn't slow down the gas production, btw , they are drilling every 15 acres 24/7 and have been for the last 3 years
