[Its been said quite often that the "Surest, quickest and shortest way to the poverty line is through the divorce court." And yet statiscally 52 per cent of American females under thirty are also trying to hitch hike their way there as well, via a more circuitous route, by giving birth to children out of wedlock. This large reservoir of fatherless children constitutes the basis of a huge pool of poverty that this nation must eventually deal with, something we hear ad nauseum on a 24/7/365 basis from people like this current president and his advisors endlessly preaching 'Social Justice', something that we must deal with by allowing his benevolent government almost unlimited access to our income, acquired wealth and savings.
This same president, with the advent of his special program, Obamacare, also feels that since the Government is now on the hook financially for the care and maintenance of each individuals health, the government now has the right and obligation to tell Americans what to consume and not to consume, by way of their mouth. Yet that remaining very slim majority of Americans that are on the hook for actually paying for every American's healthcare, who must by virtue of the internal revenue code give this president access to their wallets, 24/7/365 to provide for the care and well being of these females and their progeny, have no right to say anything about those 52 per cent of American females under thirty who daily try to catch the brass ring with their genitals, and consequently, also daily add to the numbers on the public dole. You gotta pay, but you gotta keep your mouth shut while paying, otherwise you'll be considered evil, heartless, and cruel by the literati and illuminati. Just keep your wallet open but don't insist on the right of ordering some quick setting epoxy adhesive or some simple catgut sutures approriately placed to cut down on the level of fornicating and the subsequent out of wedlock children who inevitably find their way to the public dole.
Its a regular Saturday ritual in the nations drugstores to observe the nations eighteen year old females bringing in their prescription orders for their abortion cocktail medications from the clinics and while waiting for the orders to be filled shop for some toys for their three year old children. There's obviously nothing wrong with America's fecundity, but the social engineers, beginning with LBJ's Great Society long ago forgot the basic axiom of Social Engineering, "If you want less of something, tax it, if you want more of something, subsidize it."]

"The New York Times reports that 53 percent of babies delivered to women under the age of 30—the prime motherhood demographic—enter the world without their parents married to one another. But it’s not the rise of illegitimacy that scandalizes sex scribbler Katie Roiphe. It is the newspaper’s “peculiar moral undertone.”

The Times dares make the connection between the former and the latter. “The shift is affecting children’s lives,” report Jason DeParle and Sabrina Tavernise in the offending piece. “Researchers have consistently found that children born outside marriage face elevated risks of falling into poverty, failing in school or suffering emotional and behavioral problems.” Indeed, William Bennett’s Index of Leading Cultural Indicators reported that children from single-parent homes were more likely to drop out of school, use illegal narcotics, and become incarcerated than their peers from nuclear families. That report came out eighteen years ago, when the illegitimacy rate hovered around thirty percent.

Nearly three decades before that, when illegitimacy stood at about 10 percent, Daniel Patrick Moynihan famously warned of the dangers of the disintegration of the nuclear family, particularly as it pertained to black Americans. “At the heart of the deterioration of the fabric of Negro society is the deterioration of the Negro family,” Moynihan wrote when African American illegitimacy approached 25 percent (it now approaches 75 percent). “It is the fundamental source of the weakness of the Negro community at the present time.” His report continued that “at the center of the tangle of pathology is the weakness of the family structure. Once or twice removed, it will be found to be the principal source of most of the aberrant, inadequate, or antisocial behavior that did not establish, but now serves to perpetuate the cycle of poverty and deprivation.” The total illegitimacy rate now exceeds 40 percent, significantly higher than the alarming rate for African Americans in the mid-1960s that Moynihan wrote about."
