In my not so humble (and well informed) opinion, this is an outstanding article about the problems along the border with Mexico. It points out some difficulties with the wall and suggests there are some things the president and his staff should consider. As an example, families have lived on both sides of the border for centuries. The imaginary line makes it difficult to interact. Not far from Nogales, the Tonto O'Ohdam tribe is a perfect example of the artificial separation of peoples who lived before these limitations were imposed.

This sheriff is a perfect example. Raised in a one room shack with no running water or electricity, he has risen to become the highest law officer in the county. Yet, he cannot even cross over to visit family – but also because he's the target of gangs and drug cartels.

The estimated $20 billion cost for the wall, Estrada said, could be better spent helping to stabilize the Mexican economy to staunch the flow of illegal immigration or fund more drug treatment in the U.S., to cut American dependence on illegal drugs.
