"What we've seen in the recent past, I think, is an indication of one of the things that we're going to have to be most concerned about in the future, this self-radicalization of American citizens or people who reside in the United States. They have too often come under the influence of people who have misinterpreted Islam." - a statement by Eric Holder, Attorney General of the United States

a statement by Eric Holder, Attorney General of the United States

Eric Holder would no doubt be appalled if he learned of someone teaching Constitutional Law at an American university who, it turned out, had never bothered to read the Dred Scott case, nor Loving v. Virginia, nor Shelley v. Kraemer, nor Brown v. Bd. of Education, nor a whole host of other cases involving race, and the Fifth and Fourteenth Amendments.

Snip
But he, Eric Holder, presumes to make pronouncements about Islam, and to tell us that those Muslims who are involved in acts or attempted acts or planned acts of terrorism are misinterpreting Islam. He ignores the fact that all of them have always had, or recently or not so recently acquired, a deep faith in Islam. That faith is not modified by calculations of self-interest (as with many Muslims now living in the West who must act one way until such time as they feel their numbers and power have increased sufficiently)

Snip

Eric Holder can keep telling us, if he wishes, that the people we must worry about are those who "misinterpret Islam' - even though he offers not a shred of evidence, not a single passage, to prove such "misinterpretation."

snip

We have to stop describing as part of "our values" what is merely a cripplingly inhibiting fear of offending Muslims. We must let them think we know what Islam inculcates and are now prepared to construct policies designed not to deal not merely with this or that terrorist group, but with the Camp of Islam, with all those who by identifying themselves as Muslims can reasonably be treated as adherents of an ideology that we have every right to be alarmed about - the ideology of Islam. Public trust in the capacity of those who claim to protect us adequately, once lost, is hard to regain. We are not quite there, but almost.

Are you implying that all America should be at war with all of Islam?

Please clarify what the hell you are talking about

Part of the problem
which is being exploited by jihad as illustrated in
management of savagery - Google Search
Is mistrust of the USA federal government by out allies and the population.

As our government continues to lie, the citizens trust less and support its actions less . As the evidence that terror act done by people which nothing particular in mind becomes an increasing stupid position the people of this country and other nations fall out of the sphere of credibility and influence a righteous government that was truthful can have .
Thus putting Ilsam isn a better light.

this is an aspect of jihad ,a trap that has be set.The government has fallen into it.

Politicians and media types pontificate on these jihad acts and being perpetrated by misunderstanders of Islam with out a shred of evidence , this flawed approach.
It weakens the west.

Islam declared war on the world

Ishaq:208 "When Allah gave permission to his Apostle to fight, the second Aqaba contained conditions involving war which were not in the first act of submission. Now we bound ourselves to war against all mankind for Allah and His Apostle. He promised us a reward in Paradise for faithful service. We pledged ourselves to war in complete obedience to Muhammad no matter how evil the circumstances."

Fighting disbelief is in the highest order in Islam

33:21. Indeed in the Messenger of Allâh (Muhammad ) you have a good example to follow for him who hopes in (the Meeting with) Allâh and the Last Day and remembers Allâh much.

'Abdullah bin 'Umar, may Allah be pleased with them, reported:
Allah's Messenger said: I have been commanded to fight against people till they testify that there is no god but Allah, and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, perform the Prayer, and pay Zakah. If they do that, their blood and property are guaranteed protection on my behalf except when justified by law, and their affairs rest with Allah.

Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, reported:
The Messenger of Allah (may peace be upon him) said: I have been commanded to fight against people until they testify that there is no god but Allah, and he who professes it is guaranteed the protection of his property and life on my behalf except for a right warrant, and his affairs rest with Allah.

2:190.
And fight in the Way of Allâh[] those who fight you, but transgress not the limits. Truly, Allâh likes not the transgressors. [This Verse is the first one that was revealed in connection with Jihâd, but it was supplemented by another (V.9:36)].

2:191.
And kill them wherever you find them, and turn them out from where they have turned you out. And Al-Fitnah[] is worse than killing. And fight not with them at Al-Masjid-al-Harâm (the sanctuary at Makkah),[] unless they (first) fight you there. But if they attack you, then kill them. Such is the recompense of the disbelievers.
2:192.
But if they cease, then Allâh is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
2:193.
And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allâh) and (all and every kind of) worship is for Allâh (Alone).[] But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zâlimûn (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.)
The Noble Quran : Surat 2

let there be no transgression except against Az-Zâlimûn
let there be no transgression except against Az-Zâlimûn
let there be no transgression except against Az-Zâlimûn
let there be no transgression except against Az-Zâlimûn

8:39

And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and polytheism: i.e. worshipping others besides Allâh) and the religion (worship) will all be for Allâh Alone [in the whole of the world[]]. But if they cease (worshipping others besides Allâh), then certainly, Allâh is All-Seer of what they do
2:193.
And fight them until there is no more Fitnah (disbelief and worshipping of others along with Allâh) and (all and every kind of) worship is for Allâh (Alone).[] But if they cease, let there be no transgression except against Az-Zâlimûn (the polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc193

To ignore the tenant of jihad in Islam is to give ourselves the disadvantage of being able to make a compelling truthful argument to defend ourselves against an ideology twhose founding documents make it clear it intends to take over the world and create and Islamic world.

Anti-jihad initiative

"There is no criteria for evaluation." That tells you all you need to know.

The only people fool enough to fall for this are all working in the State Department and the Pentagon.

"Wacky jihad therapy failed to 'cure' plane-bomb plotter," by Chuck Bennett for the New York Post, January 2 (thanks to Sr. Soph):

A cushy Saudi Arabian "rehab" center where terrorists are encouraged to express themselves through crayon drawings, water sports and video games is under scrutiny after one of its graduates re-emerged as a leader in the al Qaeda branch claiming responsibility for trying to blow up an airliner on Christmas.
Said Ali al Shihri -- a former Guantanamo Bay detainee who now heads the terror group al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula -- obviously didn't get to the bottom of his America-hating issues while undergoing the controversial rehab for jihadists.

Inmates like Shihri are supposed to while away the days playing ping-pong, PlayStation and soccer in hopes that the peaceful environment will help them cope with their jihadist rages.

Bomb-makers and gunmen participate in art therapy to help them explore their feelings non-violently.

In between tasty picnic-style meals of rice and lamb and snacks of Snickers along with dips in the pool, participants practice Arabic calligraphy, produce dizzying Jackson Pollack rip-offs and imagine the aftermath of car bombings in crayon.

Some 1,500 al Qaeda terrorists have "graduated" from the program, including 108 former Guantanamo Bay detainees, the Washington Post reported.

"The Saudis talk about a success rate of 80 to 90 percent, but when you look at what those numbers mean in reality, it all falls down. There is no criteria for evaluation," John Horgan, a Department of Homeland Security consultant, told the New York Post....

Ill try to make it simple
If the government officials make unprovable unsupportable statements about Islam,or dismisses the rational behind jihad terrorism it doesn't help the west, it just makes the government look stupid.

If there is a scriptural connection between jihad, terrorism, and Islam the government should be honest about it .

I can prove the connection, as can anyone who has spent a weekend with the Quran and ahaddith open in there lap.

Remember Euclid... The shortest distance between two points is a strait line.
I can actually agree with what you said here.

I think you should make Hemmingway your model, rather than Bulwer-Llyton. You will get more posrep that way.

Even if you get rid of Islam off the face of the earth, they will find someother propaganda/religion to control their people against us. The easiest way to control a mostly uneducated populace is through fear.

Religion&ideology incite fear.

Fear. Sound familiar?

Same control method, different countries/worlds.

In general terms, it seems most religions have a punishment in your afterlife. In this life you may have a twist of charma, but basically your life goes on. With Islam, it is a matter of convert or die in this life. Carried out to its conclusion, it means an Islamic world. Free will is an option in most other religions.

Canada has created a two-tiered legal system to accomodate Islam. Hopefully hate crimes will not extend to freedom of speech and the press. We also need to reject attempts to have Sharia law here.
