The Acropolis Aesthetic: Missionary Media [Church-Net]

    This media-prayer was inspired by Tron: Legacy.

    A radical Internet-blogger named Ajay Satan dressed up in vigilante costumes and talked about censorship in modern-media as a surefire sign of networking intrigue. Some considered Ajay Satan to be a terrorist of sorts, while others considered him to be a 'media prophet.' Regardless, he became extremely popular and more 'attractive' than Deepak Chopra, Joel Ostein, and Dr. Seuss combined.


    Ajay Satan then revealed to the world that he was actually the sun-god Apollo, and he was here to make sure that humanity take the 'miracle' of modern media for granted. Ajay/Apollo was a terrific archer and commissioned a respected classical painter in LA to make a painting of him as a godly centurion-like archer and defender of human liberty. The painting was circulated widely on the Internet and became a symbol of social praise of networking imagination and the elevation of media diplomats as 'vanity-guarding deities.'


    Ajay/Apollo anointed the two media-celebrities/movie-stars Tom Cruise and Tom Hanks as his 'first knights,' and they were quite capable of donning the roles of modernism idealists, since they embraced the new age of media-folkloric customs dialogue. Cruise/Hanks had made culturally iconic Hollywood (USA) films such as Dragnet and Top Gun which had become 'American standards' of norms and psychology.


    Cruise and Hanks then revealed to the world that they were actually the 'superheroes' Green Lantern (a man with incredible illumination/imagination powers) and Flash (a man with incredible speed-and-translation powers). Cruise/Lantern and Hanks/Flash teamed up with Ajay/Apollo to construct a new age 'Acropolis' --- or convention of diplomatic 'gods.' This 'Acropolis Aesthetic' would facilitate a productive new 'missionary' approach to media utility (e.g., Wikipedia, Facebook, EWTN, etc.). After all, consumers cared deeply about the 'splendor' of modern toys.


    Soon, this Acropolis Aesthetic caught fever and now multiple 'heroes/gods' sprung up to complement the authority and work of the 'Triad' (Apollo, Lantern, Flash). These 'secondary gods' facilitated the efficient dissemination of democratic/populism values in a world governed by commerce and networking (e.g., NASDAQ, European Union). Globalization felt much more...stylish.


    The 'regular people' (the citizenry that made the world 'tick') were now arrayed beautifully as angels of progressive politics, and the higher-gods (Apollo, etc.) complimented their work. The world would forget about the horrors of 9/11 and WWII and now embrace the potential of a media-engaged 'customs-ornamentation' (e.g., Star Wars folk-philosophy/idealism).


    There were laborers and civil servants just as in any other civilization --- Egypt, Britain, Sumeria, Constantinople, etc. These laborers wanted social welfare, security assurances, civil entertainment, and hygienic farming. They cared about eco-pollution and the quality of schools and medicine. It was the burden of the gods and captains (Apollo, Lantern, bishops, politicians) to construct a 'paradise.' This was entirely 'conceived' because of media/networking.


    The underworld sent the demonic spirit of Medusa, a sensual and hypnotizing snake-woman who simply destroyed any man who dared to defy her, to create anarchy and terrorism to confound the good work of the gods, bishops, and laborers on modern Earth. Only Apollyon could stand up to her, so he challenged her to a civil debate about the value of teamwork.

    APOLLO: Without respect and kindness, there is no divinity!
    MEDUSA: Anarchy makes for intrigue...
    APOLLO: Not everyone can afford 'intrigue.'
    MEDUSA: Teamwork is not so straightforward.
    APOLLO: We have to treat teamwork as if it's a trophy.
    MEDUSA: Why?
    APOLLO: Teamwork reminds us of the value of governance.
    MEDUSA: What is 'governance' exactly?
    APOLLO: Governance is the application of deference in times of fatigue.
    MEDUSA: So, it's based on empathy and altruism!
    APOLLO: Precisely; governance enables us to create praise.
    MEDUSA: Alright; I'll cease tampering with your 'project.'


    After Medusa departed from Earth, Apollo commissioned toy-makers to begin marketing media and networking symbolic toys such as robot-models that transformed into espionage-geared audio-tape devices containing miniature robots that transformed into the cassettes/tapes themselves. These modernism-toys would be marketed as 'trophies' of consumerism. Lantern and Flash would then have to encourage consumers not to misread these toys so as to avoid the human errors of idol-worship.


    Apollo (Ajay Satan) wrote in his journal, "I think about the story/image of the Rape of Lucrece and I think about why the mind seeks to use tools and possessions to simply overpower others. It seems that we're prone to an avarice that leads us to turn gifts into weapons and treasures into idols. When we rape our own aesthetic sensibilities, we corrupt the process of technology-elevation." Would Apollo's vision of Acropolis be realized? What would commerce-minded U.S. President Donald Trump say?


    Apollo prayed every night to the mystical muse of democracy known as the fabled 'Lady of the Lake' who served as a guardian/keeper of the magical sword Excalibur. Apollo knew that Excalibur represented the very best of human courage and imagination, and he meditated on how the Lady of the Lake sanctified the great sword as a 'testament' of man's homage to pure humility (and reason). Would the power of Excalibur be enough to hoist the modern world of cheeseburgers and smart-phones to the level of real inspiration? Was Toys 'R Us and Apple Computers worth the 'prayer' to all sentient beings? Was America/capitalism worth the sweat?


    A digital collection of notes and documents regarding these media developments and proverbs were collected in a tech-sophisticated library in D.C. This 'archive' revealed the investment of the gods and civil servants of this New World in the formation of a 'missionary media,' so Apollo (Ajay Satan) called this 'academy' Church-Net.


    TRUMP: I believe in Apollo.
    CARTER: I like Lantern and Flash too.
    TRUMP: Media has revolutionized the will.
    CARTER: Remember the early days of Netscape and Facebook?
    TRUMP: Now, we have social prayers such as WikiLeaks!
    CARTER: Let's go watch Tron on Netflix.
    TRUMP: That sounds 'savvy.'
