But, due to the advances in technology, we old farts are able to stay in communication with more of our friends than ever before.

#2 is especially difficult - it's so sad to lose the older generation. I miss my dad terribly. He passed away one year ago today. I miss him.

I lost Mine on My wifes birthday in 2011. My condolences. It really sucks. So many times I've seen something that I just KNOW My dad would have loved and I can't share it.

Thank you. And yes, the end of shared memories is very sad.

One more thing I like about my age: being able to afford a decent digital camera and to live in a place with dark night skies. I took this photo of Comet 46P/Wirtanen an hour ago. It is the fuzzy green blotch below and slightly to the right of the Pleiades asterism. The light at the horizon is a lighthouse out on Lake Superior.View attachment 234912

Where the hell is the Pleiades asterism?

See that arrangement near the top middle of the picture, that looks like a tiny version of the “Big Dipper”? That's the Pleiades asterism.
