A v-8 with a four barrel carb, on a good day if I wasn't ramming around like an idiot kid I got 8 MPG

I quickly saved enough on my own to buy one of these:

It attracted trim like moths to a flame :)

Giving a car to an inexperienced driver is unwise.

We all started out as inexperienced drivers.

Those of us who survived the breaking in period cringe when we realize that our KIDS are going to have to go though the same process.

You know what having kids is, really?

It's giving your heart to an idiot and hoping that he (she'll) outlive you.

Unless you're Homer Simson, of course, in which case you:

" ..only want to live long enough to bury your children"

May I ask what the little genius has accomplished to deserve that ? That piece of shit, to be exact. Wait until you see how much time it spends in the shop. Yeah. I owned one.
The only thing good about it was my custom seat cover , as seen here.
It's now in my Land Cruiser....actually NOW. It's in the jacuzzi.

I worked for two years and bought my first car.

I'd be damned if I would ever give a car to a 16 year old.

Well crap...feel kinda bad now.
The guy said he put $6500 in it.
I know nothing about 4wd's or Jeeps. But two guys in production have been Jeep enthusiast since they were kids.
The guy wasn't exaggerating. He put a 4" lift kit on it, new wheels, new 4-10 rear end, exhaust...hihg brand lock outs etc.
These guys say it is worth a solid $7000 as it sits.
The guy was laid off last August and sold it because he had to.

Dang it.

Yeah, and 35. a gallon left enough to drive the strip and still buy a hambuger & shake from a roller skating queen at the drive in. We have a place called Sonic, now, that has revived that thrill for the oldies. :) Here was my first ride, bought 2nd hand for $300. from a friend. 312 cu. in. 4 barrel. Rodchester carb I think. I put dump tubes on it, and actually got asked to leave Arizona or go to jail over loud pipe violations. The judge sighed when I come into his court room.
