What memories for us early BABY BOOMERS that lived through the VERY BEST period of our lives...please enjoy the memories!

These Kodachrome slides are from when go-ahead Americans believed a flying car was just around the corner

Well Iā€™m not bragginā€™ babe so donā€™t put me down
But Iā€™ve got the fastest set of wheels in town
When something comes up to me he donā€™t even try
ā€˜Cause if I had a set of wings man I know she could fly

Just a few years after this picture was taken, the restaurant was sold to Vince Evans, the bombardier of the 'Memphis Belle' in World War II Europe. He was responsible for the barrage of billboards and stop motion television ads that made the small restaurant a Southern California tourist attraction.

Flying cars were around the corner.

I remember at least one season of the Bob Cummings show starting with him driving his car to the airfield, have the wings and propeller attached, and him flying off.

(I'm guessing they didn't sell well)
