I haven't carried a balance on a credit card for several years. But now that I see just how crooked the industry has become, I don't plan to again unless there is some real reform.

I was wondering who would be dumb enough to pay a 30% rate on a credit card. I had to click on the source to find out that it happened to someone who went over their max credit limit. This isn't alarming for me since I don't plan on maxing out my credit cards and pay them off every month.

Just some advice, but anyone paying more than 9% with great credit should call their credit card company and ask for a better rate. If not shop around for a better rate or get enrolled in a mileage or rewards program. I'm at 12% because I always pay off my card and I'm in a rapid rewards program that gives back 1% in cash.
