Thanks to the filth homeless transients bring, Los Angeles now faces threat of typhus outbreak

Once again we have the ranting ideological cognitive dissonance of right wing laissez faire types whining about how we need to criminalize poverty but keep 'freedom to fail' and 'Social Darwinism' mythological inanity in our economic system. lol what do we do next, rig up gassing vans and line them up to company doors whenever they're laying off people to keep unemployment low?

And aren't right wingers just as big on legalizing drugs and drunkenness as their left wing bros are?

It's spreading and other diseases and problems are continuing to grow.

‘Medieval’ Diseases Flare As Unsanitary Living Conditions Proliferate

FTA: “It becomes just like a Third World environment where their human feces contaminate the areas where they are eating and sleeping.”

Governor: “Typhus,” he said. “A medieval disease. In California. In 2019.”

People in Washington State have been infected with Shigella bacteria, which is spread through feces and causes the diarrheal disease shigellosis, as well as Bartonella quintana, which spreads through body lice and causes trench fever.

Do you think the left coast will survive?

Composting of human bodies now legal in Washington state

I think we are going nuts!
Yes. People who allow this and do nothing but point their fingers and damn the homeless people creating this public health threat ARE nuts. And stupid.

Then all of California is nuts because the government has let these people down. Thanks for clarifying.

Since I don't live in California, I don't obsess over their problems.

People who are shitting in the streets, creating mounds of filth and garbage, leaving toxins everywhere in their wake, ARE criminals, and they should be treated as such !

Recall from the homeless thread that the Los Angeles musician who built tiny homes also provided a sanitation mechanism. This drove a wedge into class difference by eliminating the cause of non-affordable housing: money. Though the diseases, drug addiction, alcoholism, etc. remain, providing housing first seriously upsets capital's plans for the perpetuation of class difference via market prices.

lol they have to, since businesses don't let them use their restrooms, and cities don't provide public ones any more. So it isn't 'criminal' if they have no choices, that's just Burb Brat snobbery at work. If you want a wide open 'free market society', it's plainly stupid and contradictory to then turn around and criminalize poverty and failure; can't have it both ways.

I guess then since they have no money, it's not 'criminal' to rob a 7-11, or break into your house.

TRASH CITY: ‘Sky-High’ Trash Piles Found In Los Angeles, Raising Concerns About Typhus

NBC4 reported Monday that “sky-high” piles of rotting trash were found around Los Angeles, leading some to worry about a new typhus outbreak.

“Even the city's most notorious trash pile, located between downtown LA's busy Fashion and Produce districts, continues to be a magnet for rats after it was cleaned up months ago. The rodents can carry typhus-infected fleas, which can spread the disease to humans through bacteria rubbed into the eyes or cuts and scrapes on the skin, resulting in severe flu-like symptoms,” the outlet reported.

NBC4’s investigative team said it previously had informed LA Mayor Eric Garcetti’s office about some of the trash piles in October. The piles they referred to were cleaned up, “but conditions have worsened over the next seven months” the outlet reported. When NBC investigators reported another trash pile, it was told it could be three months before the garbage was removed.

The trash piles — and the rats attracted to them — can cause numerous health problems for the surrounding population. Dr. Jeffrey Klauser, a professor of medicine in the division of infectious diseases at the University of California-Los Angeles, told the media outlet that a growing rat population could spread diseases like salmonella and even the bubonic plague.

What has really caused public defecation to go off the charts is the law against plastic bags. The homeless would line a bucket with a bag, crap in it then toss the bag into the dumpster. Since there are no more bags many don't even bother with a bucket. If you go down the blocks where there are tents the people generally use a bucket in the privacy of their tent and dump it in the street.

I guess you don't have a real answer. Again if one wants Social Darwinism to rule the planet, then it's stupid to then turn around and criminalize the results.
