Thanks a lot, Baby Boomers

So baby boomers.....

I think your ire is misplaced. It's central planners that caused the problems you've outline. It just so happens that the baby boomers coincided with the rise of central planners...but don't blame someone for when they were born, blame the assholes that actually caused the problems. That would be those that think they know what's best for everyone else.

I can agree with that, to some degree. The 1940's/50's was the first era in American history (I believe) where the middle class were forced to pay income taxes, and I think we've kind of witnessed a spiral out of control since then with regards to the size and efficiency of the government.

It's much easier to build a government outwards, than shrink a government inwards.

Woodrow Wilson started it all, FDR and his "New Deal" just set precedence for tyranny...

The baby boomers are the last American working population. It's baby boomers still working to support lay about children dreaming of the freebies the government will give them when those parents die.

Meanwhile, in the real world, American teens have created a wasteland of their own worthless lives.

Hard-partying young Americans have highest death rate of any high-income country, study says - NY Daily News

The new mantra for a growing number of American youths: Party hard, die young and leave a good-looking corpse.

A new study of adolescent health around the globe found the United States had the highest mortality rate for people ages 10-to-24 of any high-income country in the world.

The American kids were also No. 1 in pot-smoking, moving toward the top spot in boozing — all while still hitting the gym harder than their contemporaries in other wealthy nations.

Death on the wrong end of a gun or any other violent method is up to 20 times more likely in the U.S. than the other 27 wealthy nations, according to findings reported in The Lancet, a British medical journal.

Traffic accidents combined with the violent deaths boosted the U.S. to its undesired position atop the mortality charts, The Lancet wrote in a series of articles this week.

These are obama voters, or at the very least capable of berating parents to vote for obama. If baby boomers are at all at fault, it's because they didn't take a 2x4 to the backsides of their children and sent them out to work at 10.

Teens acting like morons? Sounds like a parenting issue if you ask me.

So baby boomers....

(1) Go to college dirt cheap, then jack up the price about 700% by the time I attended, (2) traded the idea of sane responsible banking for a "live for the moment" get rich quick profit scheme that crashed our global economy in 2006-2008, and (3) have drilled a giant divide in Washington D.C. by encouraging and perpetuating a nasty culture of political extremism.

Am I just being cynical, or does the "baby boom" generation have some explaining to do?

Sort of a half serious post, but I just thought I'd throw it out there.

So, we have a demographic that leans towards liberals and so they must be demonized!
:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

Demonized! Heavens no. The lib young will kill themselves off, just as I have always maintained that they would.

I think the New Deal was created with good intentions, was the right thing to do at the time (because a lot of aspects worked very well, and helped to bolster America into becoming nation #1), but again it's hard to "scale down" things once they're scaled up in the first place.

"Tyranny" is a bit strong of a word, too. Nazi Germany - that was Tyranny. But the USA? We are not living in that sort of a situation currently.

Would you listen to the dupes blaming "communists, Marxists, totalitarians, authoritarians"- what brainwashed MORONS. What about the Reaganists, conservatives, and Pubs who dismantled all the federal loans,Pell grants, affirmative action, etc etc programs that caused the costs to go up and opportunities to go down. Unbelievable dupes of the greedy rich...

Public college costs DOUBLED under BOOOSH, and high priced scam online collehges BALLOONED under new Pub deregulation.

I know, let's cut taxes on the bloated rich, and destroy Medicare! LOL

Because 95% of colleges and 95% of their faculty praise, support and promote socialism/communism as a utopia and the students adhere to their brainwashing masters.

I teach a college class, Nick. I'm sure not praising socialism.

The liberal arts and humanities areas do not reflect hard science, finance and economics. You'll find the latter to be mostly moderate to conservative.

Why's that, Nick/Sniper?

95%? Is that a scientific fact, or are you just making shit up because you can't think of anything clever to say?

Well, I was just making an educated guess.... I would exclude the majority of private faith based universities or colleges, however the strong majority of state universities (and private non-faith based) universities have tenured communists who will brainwash their students with propaganda.....

Sounds like kids being kids, just like they have for decades. I guess some people have conveniently forgot about their days when they were young!

Do you have a Che' Tee-Shirt?

I was at Magic Mountain last summer and a teen Mexican girl had a Che' shirt on; I blurted out "what the fuck are you wearing that for, was your Osama bin Laden shirt dirty?" I thought my wife would have apoplexy. The girl seemed too dumb to comprehend the connotation.

No, I don't have a Che shirt. Why the should I care about some random Marxist revolutionary? Sniper/Nick like to put people in buckets; it makes 'understanding' the world easier for them, because it saves them from having to think too hard.

The majority of books I have read that are required reading for college students are sympathetic to socialism/communism..

Few focus on the horrors of socialism/communism, authoritarianism or totalitarianism...

"Li Da" by Nick Knight is a perfect example.

There is no objectivity - actually, reality and facts are blatantly hidden or minimized when it comes to socialism/communism in these books.
