I certainly did not serve in a war, and the 2 weeks that I did "serve" was part of an American program. I spent my junior year of college abroad, studying in Israel.

Israel is already helping the injured of Syria all the time, some of them possibly Druze (I admit I don't know the subject up closely). I guess in specific cases it could also offer shelter out of humanitarian reason. However, in case it happens that means the U failed miserably in Syria.

That is some very good question, RoccoR.
However I did served in the Border Police (Not a military unit) , the Border Police is probably one of the most favored unit of Druze after Herev Battalion (which might make it to the first place due to Herev disassembling ) about 40% of the people I met were Druze, there were some Christians and Muslims as well(about 10%), I don't want to make this thread a personal interview but I can tell it was probably the best years in my life where I learned valuable lessons.
