Thank you, President Obama!

And now the Obama/OWS-Bots love Wall Street too. Seriously, it's true. What a bunch of loons.

Bush 4% Unemployment/Record High Stock Markets.

And a huge crash because his SEC was watching Porn instead of the banksters.

Conservatives can’t have it both ways.

If the right is going to ‘blame’ Obama for the poor economy, then they must credit him for the recovery.

As soon as you tell me what Obama has done to get credit, Clayton...I'll give it. Just sitting your ass in a chair in the Oval Office doesn't mean you get credit for the American economy slowly digging it's way out of a recession that you prolonged with stupid fiscal policy.

Ahh, but old style there's the hitch. When Obama entered office, unemployment was already 8.0 yet his administration is seen as the fault of no-jobs. He didn't do anything to create that situation. So either we abandon blame/credit conversations -or- Obama gets both.

Thank you for what? 8.5% Unemployment,Crushing Debt,and Record High Poverty? You're thanking him for that? Ok, whatever. Good luck with all that.

Thank you President Obama..

Underemployment is 18.7%, up from 18.3% in December

by Dennis Jacobe, Chief Economist

PRINCETON, NJ -- U.S. unemployment, as measured by Gallup without seasonal adjustment, increased slightly to 8.6% in January from 8.5% in December, but was down from 9.9% in January a year ago.

U.S. Unemployment Up, to 8.6% in January

can anyone tell me what Obama has done to create all these jobs?

Certainly. He decreased the size of the American workforce by causing thousands to cease looking for work. That drives down the unemployment figure.

Simple math will show this.

x/(E+x)=Ue where x is the number of people looking for work, E is the number of people employed, and Ue is the unemployment rate expressed in decimals. Let the Ue rate be 10% (Ue=0.10) Let x be 1000.

1000/(E+1000)=0.10
therefore E=9000

Now suppose NO jobs are created and the Ue rate is magically claimed to be 8.3% (Ue=0.083)

That means that

x/(9000+x)=0.083
x=0.083(9000+x)
x=747+0.083x
x-0.083x=747
0.92x=747
x=811.96

...a decrease in x of only 19% (from 1000 to 812)

...and without creating a single fucking job.

Yup uh huh, your Dear Leader's 'Jobs Czar' GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt gonna fix everythin. Boy, you guys become more delusional by the day. :cuckoo:

Don't support Obama. just ask the leftists here...

But I also don't live in a world where Bush doesn't deserve a full ration of blame.

The economy is getting better because it always does. Leftist will claim it was because of Obama, right-wingers will claim he delayed recovery. But recovery is here, and you all are just going to have to learn to live with this guy for four more years.

Considering that the alternative was Romney, I can live with it.

Sputtering or recovering. That is the question and both have merit depending on what you wish to cherry pick. Housing prices are still in decline meaning there is no recovery.

Wow....the lefties are still so consumed with Bush all the while Obama continues to wreck this country with Obamacare, consumed with raising taxes on the masses, stifiling oil production or should it be energy independence, cursing wall street all the while winking at them continuing to fill their pockets and the list goes on and on. Yea the lefties don't want to discuss issues they want to justify Obama's wreaking havoc based on their own self constructed notions of Bush and his own lust for spending. Hell, Bush's spending pales in comparison to what Obama has thrust upon ALL of us.

Pretty ironic the lefties hate Bush and what do they hate about him....

He acted like a Democrat..... :cuckoo:

I don't blame Obama for the state of the economy when he took office, Kiki. I don't even hold him particularly to blame for unemployment going to over 10%. I think the economists he chose to advise him (Summers and Romer) were idiots and botched their jobs from the get go when they underestimated the severity of the problem. Obama chose them, however so the ultimate blame of their being screwups rests with him.

What I DO blame Obama for is chasing ObamaCare first instead of concentrating on fixing the economy and getting people back to work. I also hold him responsible for buying into the whole Keynesian economic theory that governments can spend their way to prosperity. For a guy that was supposedly smart, Barack Obama has shown precious little intelligence in how he's attacked problems with the economy. You've got a sluggish economy and what do you do to make things better? Propose Cap & Trade legislation that would add billions to the energy costs of American businesses? Who would be stupid enough to do that? A second year Economics major could have told him that would dampen the recovery.

Then you let Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid craft ObamaCare and the Stimulus behind locked doors? Are you kidding me? Nancy and Harry isn't what the American people voted for when they voted for "Change". But Obama deferred to those two because to be quite frank...he's totally clueless when it comes to drafting legislation. Throughout his entire career he's been fed bills that were done by others. He isn't capable of telling others what to do to make a bill work because he's never done that.

That is one sector, yup. Not saying there aren't a lot of problems to be fixed.

But all we hear from the Weird Mormon Robot are the same old tired things that don't work. - Tax cuts for rich people (I though you said they were doing just fine, Mitt), deregulations, etc.

Housing prices are still going down because their value was inflated beyond reason to start with, and you had all these people who flipped their houses, etc.

All valid criticsms. Much better than the stupid nonsense we normally hear from the right.

Ironically, what may have saved Obama is that the Congress changed hands, and limited how much additional damage he can do.

Economy Adds 243K Jobs In January; Unemployment Falls to 8.3 Percent

The U.S. economy added 243,000 jobs in January and the unemployment rate has fallen to 8.3 percent, according to the latest jobs report from the Labor Department. The numbers mark the fifth straight month that unemployment has dropped.

Analyst expectations ranged from high 100,000s to low 200,000s, so the numbers exceed expectations.

White House Council of Economic Advisers Chairman Alan Krueger said the January jobs report provides further evidence that "the economy is continuing to heal from the worst economic downturn since the Great Depression."

Would you like to thank the President while you are on your knees before him....
You can look up at him with a big smile on your face when you are done....thanking him.:tongue:

The fact is, Joe...if Obama had gotten what he wanted...which was Cap & Trade and Card Check...then the economy WOULD be in worse shape and unemployment WOULD be higher. Yet progressives constantly rant about how Congress has "obstructed" poor Barry? The "obstructionists" are what saved his ass.

Who the fuck cares how it happened. Jobs were added. Just fucking be happy about the fact that people are putting food on their table and shut the fuck up.

Many of you have been here long enough that you should know that Rav makes these threads intentionally just to fuck with you. Why do you fucking morons fall for it every single time?

I don't know, Paulie...because if we knew why it happened perhaps we could add MORE jobs?
