Thank you Bush...

Thank you Bush...

"Private capital tends to become concentrated in few hands, partly because of competition among the capitalists, and partly because technological development and the increasing division of labor encourage the formation of larger units of production at the expense of smaller ones. The result of these developments is an oligarchy of private capital the enormous power of which cannot be effectively checked even by a democratically organized political society. This is true since the members of legislative bodies are selected by political parties, largely financed or otherwise influenced by private capitalists who, for all practical purposes, separate the electorate from the legislature. The consequence is that the representatives of the people do not in fact sufficiently protect the interests of the underprivileged sections of the population. Moreover, under existing conditions, private capitalists inevitably control, directly or indirectly, the main sources of information (press, radio, education). It is thus extremely difficult, and indeed in most cases quite impossible, for the individual citizen to come to objective conclusions and to make intelligent use of his political rights." - Albert Einstein

Don't worry

As an ex-president, Bush will not be prosecuted. Even Nixon never went to trial. Bushs punishment will be his legacy. He is already considered one of our five worst presidents in history and the worst in modern times

Bushs decision to abandon the war on terrorism for an ill-defined and poorly executed invasion of Iraq. Bushs blunderous attempt at nation building will haunt him the rest of his life

That is Bush's punishment.
So you don't deny that Democrats are really, REALLY stupid. That's a start.

And you know what? I really don't think Bush is feeling very punished by your leftist butthurt.

Actually, I think that at the end of his presidency, Bush was in shock at how badly his legacy had crumbled. He had grand dreams of a Bush Doctrine where he took over a few countries, installed democracy and watched as democratic governments swept the region
He had a simplistic view that Iraq would fall easily and quickly rally around the US as it's noble liberators. When Iraq fell into civil war and US casualties piled up, Bush knew his grand plan was a colossal blunder
Speaking of simplistic views...

There isn't a whole lot to be thankful to Bush for, but there are some things, first on the list is not signing the Koyoto Accord, and 2nd would be having a backbone.

It's not just that Bush had simplistic views. He tried to win Iraq on the cheap. He needed a quick, painless war to cement his legacy and he got anything but. He was isolated by his advisors so he only heard the optimistic view that we could take Iraq with minimal casualties and then the people would celebrate their liberation with us being out in a year

Bush was let down by his advisors. Gen Shinseki told it like it was in terms of what was needed for the invasion and occupation. Cheney, Rumsfeld and Wolfowitz shouted him down and chased him out of town

Bush had simplistic world changing views that did not take into account the complex religious and political climate in the region

Of course, that only applies to the Bush war on terrorism

He was equally poorly served by his economic advisors who fed him optimistic supply side estimates of what his tax cuts would do for the economy. Bush is the only President in history who actually paid for a war by cutting taxes

He actually believed that his second round of tax cuts would lead to such a surge in the economy that it would mores than make up for the cost of the war

If you're not going to read my posts, why bother responding to them? By the way, your responses are only proving me correct.

You mean your "Bumper Sticker Boi" stuff with smilies?

Yes, very interesting stuff. I know you worked very hard on them

Bush starts a useless war that killed thousands
Obama ended a war that killed thousands.

Where do you stand?

(Oh and lets all thank who we pray to, that McCain/Palin did not win. Wheeew!)

Like Dragon, you're laboring under the mistaken impression you deserve any more consideration than that.

In the end, I think Bush was poorly served by his advisors. He had grand plans for his presidency and sincerely wanted to do a good job. His unflinching support of Cheneys judgement was his undoing

I think in the end he felt betrayed and was left holding the bag for the bad decisions of his administration

Let's review.

The Bush plan: Invade Iraq. Force regime change. Rid the world of what he told us was an imminent threat to our security and destroy the massive stockpiles of Weapons of Mass Destruction he told us were there. The whole thing cost 800 billion dollars and 4200 American lives as well as nearly 40,000 maimed and wounded Americans. Countless cases of PTSD and a whole nation of pissed off Iraqis.
.....All of this, and MORE, while....

Defector Tells
"U.S. Officials 'Sexed UP' His Fictions."

"A man whose lies helped to make the case for invading Iraq – starting a nine-year war costing more than 100,000 lives and hundreds of billions of pounds – will come clean in his first British television interview tomorrow.

"Curveball", the Iraqi defector who fabricated claims about Iraq's weapons of mass destruction, smiles as he confirms how he made the whole thing up. It was a confidence trick that changed the course of history, with Rafid Ahmed Alwan al-Janabi's lies used to justify the Iraq war."

The international world is laughing at us right now. Iran is the loudest .. In their eyes we are getting weaker and weaker and what happens when our enemies think we are weak ?? What if they feel we are so weak they try to do another 9.11 type attack

Oh good lord. FOX controlled brains are scary. You and republicans are what the entire world is laughing at. They are pretty frightened too that one of those cazies they've been watching the past 4 months could possibly become president of our country. To normal Americans, it's been incredibly embarrassing knowing people from other countries have witnessed the GOP primaries.

Tell us how proud you were of the DNC primary.

Then do us a favor and shut up.

lol. No comparison. At least they collectively knew that Africa is a continent, not a country. They also knew that the Queen of England was not the Prime Minister.

i would take Bush back anyday over what we have had now for 4 yrs. I pray to God people do not reelect this Muslim for another 4 yrs. He was the biggest mistake this country ever made putting him into office. We are all paying the price of it.
