I think old rocks owned a muscle car did but it was about a 100 years ago... then something happened along the way, he got bitter and now he hates anything to do with tradition.... like the muscle car. Some people just get to a point along the way where they hate any guy who makes a profit and the knee-jerk is to look for government to fix every single societal ill.

He may have owned muscle, but he damned sure didn't build it...and he never knew what it was about. Going fast was just a byproduct of muscle...you made those cars your own...they reflected who you believed you were....they were an expression....they were art. Shit like the tesla is a socialists dream....all the same...individuality has been completely erased....and it only does a miserable 10.7 in a quarter. Hell, I built a f'ing VW beetle in the 70's that would run 10.2 in a quarter....and I had less than 10K in it including the candy apple canary yellow over a copper undercoat.

In 2003 the The National Highway Transportation and Safety Administration study demonstrated that reducing a vehicle's weight by only one hundred pounds increased the fatality rate by as much as 5.63% for light cars, 4.70% for heavier cars, and 3.06% for light trucks. These rates translated into additional traffic fatalities of 13,608 for light cars, 10,884 for heavier cars, and 14,705 for light trucks between 1996 and 1999.
