Posters proclaiming “IT’S OKAY TO BE WHITE” have been appearing on college campuses and on city streets across the country this week, prompted by an anonymous chat-room comment that suggested the message would feed social unrest and sway white Americans to far-right ideologies.

Since Tuesday, the posters have been spotted in Rocky River, Ohio; at Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn.; at Tulane University in New Orleans; at Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, Md.; around college-campus rich Cambridge, Mass., including the Harvard Yardand at the University of Alberta in Canada. In most cases, schools and cities have pulled the posters down, but the message has continued to spread in images and hashtags across Twitterand other social media platforms, even prompting a related Know Your Meme entry detailing its Internet origins and cultural backstory."

What's with all the ridiculous conflation of "white nationalists" (i.e., nationalists who happen to be white) with white supremacists? And who is this Valentino dude, upon which the author's entire premise rests, pontificating about how so many more whites now feel "aggrieved" these days, which he then proceeds to belittle because of his "data"? The nation's race relations had improved to the point where a huge proportion of the 70% of the population that is white voted Obama into office -- and then he promptly spent the next 8 years excoriating the opposition (which he painted as uniformly "white" -- which it wasn't) as a bunch of redneck racists. And so in 2016 they voted for Nationalism over Globalism, regarded as the source of much of what ails the nation, in the form of Trump. And yes, it IS as simple as that, notwithstanding Democrats', ivory-tower black professors', and mainstream media's efforts to paint that outcome and the nation's ethos differently.

No, it most certainly is NOT "okay" to be white in this day and age.
