You're making the assumption that if we delayed his execution it will matter! Heck it won't matter in even in Mexico. You get arrested in Mexico, you better hope you have cash to pay off the police, otherwise you get tossed in cell, with no access to even a lawyer much less the US consulant!

You make the erroneous assumption Latinos will and do vote the same whatever part of the country they are in. CA, NY and NJ Latinos vote liberal, like the majority of the whites in these states. HOWEVER, in TX and FL, the Latinos actually vote more conservative. The countries in Texas in the 2008 election that voted in the largest numbers for McCain were Latino districts! Some the Big O got 12%! Just because Texas might have a Latino majority, don't go off the erroneous assumption that it equates to a liberal majority.

Some of these threads show how fucking stupid these right wingers are. Truly stupid.

The US has signed treaties with other countries that they could offer support for one of their citizens charged with a crime in the US. If one of our citizens were charged, we would hope our government would support them in a foreign country. Because in Blue states, we believe people are innocent until proven guilty and we care about other Americans.

In this case, it's not about "guilt or innocence". It's about access for a foreign country to one of it's citizens. Something we, as the United States, expects. Texas blocked that access.

Can you right wingers understand? It's not about guilt or innocence. It's about blocking a foreign country from access to one of it's citizens. It's about our foreign policy. It's about Americans arrested overseas. Texas may have given them a death sentence. It's another one of those "unintended consequences" right wingers are always surprised by.

Yet, you will see them yelling, "Oh look, you are DEFENDING a murderer", when no one was. Pitiful people. Truly pitiful. They just don't understand anything more complex than Swiss Cheese and a cracker.

The man was here from the time he was 3 years old. Only AFTER his trial and sentencing did the idea of asking to talk to the Mexican consulate even come up. Do you think that wasn't planned?

BTW, in the 70's I visited a Mexican prison. There were dozens of Americans in there that had never been given the opportunity to speak to the American consulate until AFTER they were sentenced even though they demanded that right. Why do you think we should pay attention to UN laws when it comes to a man that was raised and educated in this country when the county he now proclaims as his own doesn't even do that for tourists?

We can't extradite people who commit crimes in this country and run to Mexico yet if they demand an American citizen be extradited for kidnapping a criminal in Mexico and bringing him here to face trial, our country jumps at the chance to give him up.

I applaud Texas for not kowtowing to the Mexican government.

I think he's looking at the FACT that Mexicans in this country have more children per family than they do in their own country while we Americans limit our children to less than replacement value. The fact that the Mexican government considers those children born in this country to be Mexican citizens while we claim they are Americans. The truth is that they are slowly taking over this country and it's a planned takeover. Check my sig line. Google it and watch the actual video. This is a man that represents the Mexican government, not some illegal that just snuck across the border and he proudly proclaims that this land will be theirs and our government, our country, our people do NOTHING.
