Looks like the shine has finally worn off. It goes to show that looks, charm and rhetoric will only get you so far. After that you'd better have a plan or something substantive to say. So far Perry has neither.

The first line of Rick Perry’s campaign obituary may have been drafted Thursday night: He got in too late.

It’s not quite time for his camp to panic but in his third debate in a month – nearly as many as he’s done in the entire decade he’s served as Texas governor – Perry demonstrated why so few presidential candidates who parachute into the race mid-campaign win the nomination.

...........after a roaring August start, Perry’s second consecutive lackluster debate performance will reinforce the growing view among some Republicans that he’s not ready for the big leagues.

..........Perry shows no ability to give a cogent answer on a foreign policy question or discuss the country’s domestic challenges in a way that veers from his top-line talking points..........

“It was clear he had no idea what he was talking about,” said Romney adviser Ron Kaufman.

The illegal immigration issue just killed Perry. Most of this country won't vote for someone that wents to give 100,000 dollar a year break in college over the rest of the country. Let alone giving that to ILLEGALS. This guy is insane. To make matters worst there is a full scale war going on the other side of the border with 15,000 dead a year and yet he is screwing around allowing everything that can walk come across in our country. NO FUCKING WAY COULD I VOTE FOR RICK ILLEGAL LOVING PERRY.

He is too much the wrong kind of moderate. People are tired of the incest between big government and big business. Perry is the representative of everything that is most annoying to voters right now.

Obama has Solyndra, Perry has Merk. The voters have had their fill of this kind insider backscratching

I still can't figure out why he supports giving in state tuition to illegal aliens........and I am liberal

I think it is funny that a devotee to The One would quote that bit about Perry's inability to discuss the country's domestic challenges seeing as how The One doesn't have a frigging clue either.

However, just for the record the quote in question was taken out of contest. Here was the full quote:

If, after the four additional forums scheduled between now and the Iowa caucuses, Perry shows no ability to give a cogent answer on a foreign policy question or discuss the country’s domestic challenges in a way that veers from his top-line talking points, Romney’s slow and steady approach will have the ex-Massachusetts governor positioned to take advantage.

Slightly different than the out of context quote DaGoose gave us.

He should worry everyone.

He certainly worries me. God help us if these are the two choices we're given.
The truly frightening part if it all is having a president who is so far over his head and out of his league, that neocon mutts like Perry and Romney actually look like semi-viable "choices"

I agree with you on Romney. but Perry? He makes me really nervous. i can't put my finger on why.

maybe he's more liberal than you.

Damn...I guess he is

If a kid sneaks over the border from Oklahoma...does he get in state tuition?

No, but if they sneaked in from Mexico or they legally came over here during the "Texas miracle", they got jobs.

Guess that's how Perry created jobs, gave them to foreigners.
