Texas governor: Washington taking care of Alabama, not Texas

I think it would be insulting to the great State of Texas to offer them charity like this. They are capable of handling things by themselves and don't need federal handouts

Totally agree on that. They've got their Texas Pride...it's very important.

and we got YOUR f-ing debt.

Make up your minds, commies ... you want to play the socialist shit or not?

Let me sum this thread up for you so far:

I'm NOT exempt from your socialist taxes and handout programs; yet,

I AM exempt from any services they might render simply because some pusswad on a PC in momma's basement wants to take things out of context and repeat a lie until they believe it's true.

Hypocrites. Guess why I'm NOT surprised.

*Thumbs UP*

As I remember back to how much Texas did to help out during Katrina, how much Texas does all around, I have to wonder about all the vindictiveness I see here. Part of Governments Primary Responsibility is in Disaster Relief. If Government wants to play political games there, I suggest a whole lot more Transparency, accountability, and an up or down majority vote on every program and It's boundaries. Anything spent over that amount can come directly out of your Pension Funds. Cut the Bullshit, lest you find every scam, scheme, exposed for the Bullshit it is, and shut the Fuck down.

For a Super Moderator, you sure are liberal with the foul language.

When People are hurting, and being mocked and ridiculed at the same time, the last thing on my mind, is the feelings of Antagonists. Being a Moderator has nothing to do with Me as a Fellow Poster. With the Exception of Me Posting in Bold Red the same rules Generally apply to both of us.

Like Righwinger said, they say they can take care of themselves. We are letting them do that.
The people who want more of localized government, are the first to bitch when the fed doesn't come and bail them out. Just sayin.

So they get to pay taxes to bail everyone else out, but they aren't entitled to receive anything they paid for if they object to being mulcted?

That is so beautifully fascist!

Exactly.

:lol::lol::lol::lol: Texas Pride indeed...

You know.....I don't mind helping them

But you all know what happens. Once you give them a handout they become lazy and don't want to work for themselves. Once Texas gets on the gubmint tit ....they will never let go

Then they can sit in mommy's basement and post on USMB all during the workday like you.

Texas is a socially and fiscally conservative state that is attracting people from Social Welfare states (CA, NY).

You really cannot blame all Chris Matthews' Parrots from frothing at the mouth.

It's not the government playing games here. It's the dork-ass leftwingnuts on this forum who love to twist words, lie and generally spread false information.

The REALLY sad part is, they believe their own lies.

And I'm an administrator and am WAY more liberal by definition than your leftwingnut ass could ever comprehend, and that includes my language.

Actually, they don't pay enough to 'bail everybody out'.

Try again.

In fiscal 2009, the IRS collected about $163 billion from Texans and the state received about $224 billion, for a net gain of $61 billion. Federal spending in Texas also exceeded tax payments in 2008 by $8 billion. It was the other way around in 2006 and 2007, when tax payments by Texans exceeded federal spending by a total of about $47 billion.

PolitiFact Texas | MSNBC host Rachel Maddow says Texas routinely receives more federal dollars than Texans pay in federal taxes

Whats that even mean? How generalized a statement is that. What is the money being spent on? I know Texas has a lot of military bases down there. Is that including Social Sercurity and Medicare. How about programs used to enforce immigration laws? You could go on and on without seeing numbers.

Maybe texans should stop giving the Federal governement any money. Then they would have plenty of money to take care of this situation. I guess Washington forgets where it gets its money.

And how much money does Washington get from Texas compared to what they get from DC?

Didn't the Texas Governor want to secede?

Did you just HAVE to comment in this thread and prove what a dumbass you are?

If the entire state of Texas (other than the Gulf Coast) burned down, would anybody notice the difference?

Or give a shit?

The economy your President has done his best to destroy would actually be finished completely.

Not real good at geographical economics, are you? Just stupid Yankee political rhetoric.

Not me. But I really, really can't believe after all the devastation in Alabama that he is whining like this...what a flipping hypocritical turd.

He's not whining. Can't wait to hear from YOU ... whenever you get communications back -- next time another Andrew waxes your dumb ass.

alabama is primarily conservative, but you've got to remember there's a huge democrat base here too. Many, but not all of course, being african american. There are a lot of aa's here, as opposed to other states.

That being said, there's been no discussion here about the federal guidelines and criteria for what constitutes disaster relief necessity. That's right. I said it. Perhaps one state qualified...and the other didn't. Happens all the time.

Someone bitching about texas' need want to chime in with some relevant law and data? I doubt you will.

is disaster relief in the constitution or does it fall under the general welfare clause?

*deflection alert!*

Wow!

These Texicans sure do get defensive when someone starts dumping on their beloved wasteland of a state.
