Tesla failed again

Almost all of the supposed subsidization involved has occurred: only as part of broad programs available to essentially every company out there (the federal electric vehicle tax credit); relates only to foreign countries (Norway’s or China’s incentives for electric vehicle purchases); is just an example of the typical practice of states/cities to offer tax incentives to lure companies (Nevada’s support for Gigafactory 1, or New York’s for Gigafactory 2); was created on the state level as a way of lowering air pollution (California’s CARB credits); or was created as a means of lowering operating costs (NASA’s occasional development support for SpaceX).

That noted, the reality also is that even without the existence of such programs, the companies in question could very well have remained viable simply by expanding more slowly than they have — the support programs are mostly a means of increasing the rate of development/growth. And from the perspective of the governments involved, the goals and subsequent results have been improved economic activity and lower pollution levels.

Up to 16" ground clearance. Now that is something I can definitely relate to. Ideal for the back country in Eastern Oregon.

Cybertruck

Back country? You mean, no further than 150 miles. . . . That is, unless you don't plan to come back. Not sure there are many charging stations out in the wilderness. :auiqs.jpg:
Incapable of reading, eh? The high end model does over 500 miles on a single charge. And that is with present batteries. By the time these are being manufactured, they may have double the range that they now have.
The article you posted stated the range is between 250-500 miles.

Could you post a link confirming range could be 1000 miles?

The reward for a fast charging battery with double or more range will be in the multi-billion dollar range. There are many people and companies working on it right now. I expect to see it by 2025.

Man made global warming is an unproven theory so the argument about the influence of GHG's on the environment is moot. Even after the six year conflagration of WW2 there didn't seem to be a change in the world's weather. As a matter of fact the weather seemed to be trending towards a cooling era during the 70's. Government compensated "scientists" seem to be ignorant of the fact that Earth's climate depends on the nuclear reactor in the sky and historically the Sun has been proven to be a fickle god.

Transportation represents a large proportion of the GHGs emitted by we humans. So any progress in making it less polluting is an advance. So Musk debuted the Tesla pickup this last week. What a flop, only 200,000 pre-orders by now.

Tesla's polarizing Cybertruck was preordered 200,000 times within 3 days

Silly ass, the total solar irradiation has been going down for the last 30 years, yet it has been warming steadily for all of that time. In fact, this year, with the last four, will be the warmest five years on record.

No, it hasn't, the warming ended in 1998. Even your hero Hansen admits that.

Your records are based on falshoods.

They'll sell about 17 of them :hello77:

5 years ago, the OP told us that by 2020 EV's would be dominating!!

LMAO.....last year, Ford sold almost 5X as many F150 trucks as all EV sales COMBINED!!

If one day I buy an electric car, then it will be because I think is worthy to buy one because its look, reliability, features, etc.

But, the idea of buying an electric car because "mine, which runs with fuel" is "killing the world"... ha ha ha ha... such is a stupid idea.

I don't buy it.

You have serious ocular problems, since it is COOLER now than it was in 1998.

Musk should be smarter with Tesla. He loads the vehicles up with useless crap, much of it dangerous, and that jacks up the price big time. He should just stick with building a basic goddamn car.

The really dangerous part? The self-driving nonsense. It flat out doesn't work, it gets people killed, and it's not going to work in our lifetimes. It's a vanity project for Musk.

You mean you somehow failed to notice 2016? Or that the 13 month average has been far higher since 1998 than before 1998? Or are you just practicing lying in the face of obvious evidence like the mango marvel in the White House?

Musk is a crazed asshole, like nearly all billionaires. Sadly, they have way too much political power, because our government is run by crooks.

Wowie, you fail to see the obvious strong EL-NINO peaks that was the real cause of atmospheric warming, CO2 couldn't prevent the strong cool downs after El-Nino fades away.

I notice that 2016 is slightly higher than 1998, but 2019 is definitely LOWER than 1998....

You called me a liar.....

Guess they think that CO2 causes El Nino also...they think it causes everything else.
