Terrorist attack on Idlib failed, over 1200 terrorists dead

"In a rather odd series of events near the provincial capital of Idlib, the Syrian Armed Forces and the combined Islamist groups that form “Jaysh Al-Fatah” are both on the offensive, despite the fact they are attacking one another a few kilometers apart.

On Monday, Jaysh Al-Fatah launched another assault on the Syrian Government stronghold of Ariha, attacking the National Defense Forces (NDF) and Syrian Arab Army’s 11th Tank Division at the eastern flank of the city from their positions at the village of Kafr Lata to the east.

Unable to break-through the NDF and 11th Tank Division’s frontline defenses at Ariha, the joint force from the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and Harakat ‘Ahrar Al-Sham were forced to withdraw their contingents besieging the eastern flank before nightfall on Monday evening.

Sources in the Idlib Governorate have confirmed the security of Ariha; however, their defenses are not impregnable, as the Islamist forces have proven their ability to reach the eastern barricades of the city.

Meanwhile, west of Ariha, the SAA’s “Tiger Forces” have continued their powerful assault on the village of Koreen, storming the militant positions at the southern perimeter of Tal Zahir Al-Mufraq – a hill adjacent to the village.

The Tiger Forces were successful in expanding their control around the hill; however, they still do not have control Tal Zahir Al-Mufraq, as the Islamists have fortified their positions near the hilltop in order to forestall the Tiger Forces’ progression at the village of Koreen.

According to a military source in Idlib, the Tiger Forces advanced to Tal Zahir Al-Mufraq after seizing control of Muqablah and the farms surrounding this rural village – the source also added that the Tiger Forces are inside the village of Koreen, but they have not reached the strategic hill in the west.

Northwest of Koreen, the NDF pushed deeper into the village of Fayloun, where they have confronted a large contingent from Jabhat Al-Nusra’s affiliate group “Jund Al-‘Aqsa” near the northeastern flank – fighting is still ongoing.

The Tiger Forces reported the death of Jabhat Al-Nusra’s field commander from Saudi Arabia – Ibrahim Al-Yahya – at the village of Qameenas on Monday; this has been confirmed."

"Yesterday, after receiving a report from the Military Intelligence, a ranger unit was air lifted to the hill of Qlemas town in Idlib countryside. The operation goal was to eliminate high value al-Nusra field commanders coordinating the attack against SAA checkpoints in the region.

20 terrorists were eliminated and the unit was evacuated safely to its division HQ."

When will this end?
More Nato inbred apes came from Turkey and stormed another town in Idlib. Got to hell, "democrats" of the west!

Article, that doesn´t consider Al-Qaeda terrorists:
"BEIRUT (AP) — Hard-line Syrian rebel groups seized a strategic town Saturday in northwestern Syria, sending government troops fleeing after intense clashes that have seen the opposition take nearly all of a crucial province.

The takeover prompted retaliatory government air raids in the town center — as many as 30 airstrikes according to one activist group — that left an unknown number of people killed and wounded. Among those wounded was a TV reporter for an opposition station who entered the town with the rebels.

If they can hold the town of Jisr al-Shughour in Idlib province, rebel fighters from Islamic factions — including the al-Qaida-affiliated Nusra Front — will have gained in only a few days a gateway to the Mediterranean coast, a refuge of embattled President Bashar Assad, and cut government supply lines from the coast to northern and central Syria. The town is one of the last bastions of Assad's government in the area and fighting around it continued Saturday.

The offensive, which rebels have called the "Battle of Victory," comes less than a month after the provincial capital, also called Idlib, fell to the opposition. Opposition television station Orient News aired images inside the town showing rebel fighters milling in the town's central square, raising their black flag. Meanwhile, fighting continued Saturday in a sprawling agricultural plain south of the town, and activists said rebel fighters were gaining new ground.

A Twitter account affiliated with the Nusra Front posted pictures apparently from inside Jisr al-Shoughour Saturday, calling it "liberated." Other pictures posted on social media showed bodies of government troops piled in the street as rebels sat atop tanks in the town's center.

The Britain-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also said the rebels completely controlled Jisr al-Shughour after government troops and allied forces fled south. The group said there were clashes on the outskirts of the town. A video the group posted showed civilians leaving the town accompanied by a number of government troops.

The government conceded its forces had left the town. A military official, quoted by Syrian state media, said government forces redeployed to surrounding villages to avoid civilian casualties after fierce battles with "armed terrorist groups" in Jisr al-Shughour.

Later, state TV said government aircraft targeted a convoy of fighters east of the town. But the Observatory and the Local Coordination Committees, another activist group that tracks the conflict, said the air raids were in the town center. The Observatory counted at least 30 raids in the town and its environs. The LCC said at least six raids were in a square in the town's center. There were no immediate casualty figures.

The Orient News television network, which was airing live coverage of the rebels' takeover, said one of its reporters was injured and its broadcast vehicle destroyed in one of the raids. The reporter, Ammar Dandash, emotionally told the broadcaster that he was returning to Jisr al-Shughour, his hometown, for the first time in years with the rebels. "Today I return to my home after four years of being deprived of it," he said, before he was injured.

Asaad Kanjo, an activist in touch with residents of the town, said most civilians had stayed indoors, fearing government retaliation. The Observatory said members of a government security agency also killed 23 detainees before they withdrew. Pictures shared on social media by the Nusra Front showed bodies of civilians piled in what they said was a local prison, near a hospital where fighters had earlier said government troops were taking cover.

Government fighters had reportedly also carried out a similar mass killing before withdrawing from Idlib city last month. The fight for Jisr al-Shughour began Wednesday and activists have said thousands of fighters took part in the offensive, which first targeted military facilities and checkpoints outside of town.

The town of Jisr al-Shughour was one of the first towns to rise against Assad's regime, but has largely remained under government control despite briefly falling to the rebels in early 2011. The government accused the rebels there of killing over 100 soldiers, a charge they denied.

Activists say the fall of the town is of also of symbolic significance because a military camp on the town's outskirts had been used to target much of Idlib's countryside, leading to many casualties. The Nusra Front and Syrian rebels have controlled the countryside and towns across Idlib province since 2012. After the fall of Idlib, the government moved its offices and staff to Jisr al-Shughour.

Assad has blamed Turkey for the fall of Idlib to Islamic fighters, saying Ankara provided "huge support" — logistical and military — that played the key role in the defeat of his forces. Syria's civil war, now in its fifth year, has killed some 220,000 people, and wounded at least 1 million. At least 4 million Syrians have become refugees in neighboring countries. Nearly double that figure are displaced inside Syria because of the conflict."

"Terrorists commit a horrifying massacre in Jisr al-Shughour, leaving 30 civilians dead
26 April، 2015

Terrorist-massacre-archive.jpg

Idleb countryside, SANA- The Takfiri terrorist organizations committed a horrifying massacre against the locals of Jisr al-Shughour city in the countryside of northern Idelb province.

A military source told SANA Sunday that 30 civilians were killed mostly women and children.

Saturday night, units of the army and armed forces carried out raids against a number of military posts to which the armed terrorists groups had infiltrated at the surroundings of Jisr al-Shughour city in Idleb countryside, and the north western countryside of Hama.

Heavy losses were inflicted upon the terrorists in personnel and equipment and pursuing those who fled.

Earlier Saturday, the army had redeployed units in the surroundings of Jisr al-Shughour to avoid any civilian casualties and fortified its defensive positions in the city’s vicinity, while it launched concentrated strikes against groups of terrorists and their supply routes in the city, killing and injuring scores of terrorists and destroying their weapons and equipment.

The army also destroyed a convoy of terrorists’ vehicles coming across the Turkish border at al-Qeniyeh-al-Janoudiyeh axis in the countryside of the province."

"The Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” and the militants from the Islamist conglomerate “Jaysh Al-Fatah” exchanged blows on Monday, as both parties entered into a tug-of-war battle for control of Highway 56 at the southern perimeter of Jisr Al-Shughour in the Idlib Governorate.

Early Monday morning, the militants from Jaysh Al-Fatah destroyed the Brick Factory after months of besieging this building; this was followed by their subsequent capture of the eastern perimeter of the camp, where they advanced as far as the army base before being forestalled by the National Defense Forces (NDF).

The Tiger Forces launched an assault of their own in the Jisr Al-Shughour District, taking control of the villages of Ghaniyah, Ziyarah, Qastoun, and Misheek after fierce clashes with the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” on Monday afternoon.

Jaysh Al-Fatah did not wait long to counter this Tiger Forces assault, as they would respond with a powerful attack at Qastoun in order to reenter this town in southeast Jisr Al-Shughour – fighting is still ongoing this morning, with both sides in a deadlock for control of this town.

Jabhat Al-Nusra and their allies from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Ajnad Al-Sham attempted to break into the Syrian Government controlled town of Ariha from their positions at Kafr Lata; however, they were repelled by the SAA and NDF soldiers protecting the eastern sector of the city, killing as many as 25 enemy combatants before the Islamist forces withdrew their attack.

At the National Hospital in Jisr Al-Shughour, Jaysh Al-Fatah attempted to infiltrate past the 87th Brigade’s frontline defenses, but they were unable to advance past the hill adjacent to the western part of the building; this was due in large part to the Islamist forces suffering heavy casualties while they inched closer to the heavily fortified building.

According to the field statistics collected by Al-Masdar News, 36 Saudi nationals from Jaysh Al-Fatah have been reportedly killed since the advent of this Islamist offensive in the Idlib Governorate."

"The Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” – in cooperation with Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham, Jaysh Al-Muhajireen, and Ajnad Al-Sham – captured the predominately Alawi village of Ishtabraq in southern Jisr Al-Shughour after three days of fierce firefights in the surrounding area.

Jabhat Al-Nusra and their allies originally captured the village of Ishtabraq during their capture of Jisr Al-Shughour; however, they lost the area during a brief Syrian Arab Army (SAA) offensive on Monday.

When the Al-Qaeda affiliate originally took the village of Ishtabraq, they reportedly executed 54 civilians, while the status of another 65 villagers was unknown; this report was confirmed by the villagers who escaped this area before the Al-Qaeda militants entered and they were later interviewed by Sham FM News.

At Musbeen, the Al-Qaeda affiliates were able to capture the Quarries to the north after a brief firefight with a small contingent of 14 soldiers from the Syrian Arab Army’s 87th Brigade; the latter would withdrawal to the village of Musbeen in order to regroup and protect the frontlines.

According to a source from SAA, the Musbin Quarries is currently under Al-Qaeda control; however, the hill and the village are still under the 87th Brigade’s control, despite claims of its captureby Opposition social media activists.

For the fourth straight day, the militants from Jabhat Al-Nusra and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham attempted to infiltrate into the Jisr Al-Shughour National Hospital, where some 120 SAA soldiers from the 87th Brigade are currently entrenched this attack was repelled for the fourth time by the SAA.

The soldiers inside the Jisr Al-Shughour National Hospital reported to a military source that they have refused all calls to surrender and will not put down their arms – they are currently well-armed and possess an escape route if they wish to withdraw from the medical facility.

As the Al-Qaeda affiliates march towards the cities of Al-Mastouma and Ariha, they continue lose hundreds of militants along the way; this has been true in a number of areas, where the Islamist fighters attempt to overrun the SAA’s positions by sheer manpower, despite the significant loss of life.

In the last 24 hours near Jisr Al-Shughour, the SAA was able to identify the following enemy combatants that were killed during the firefights: Abdel-Rahman Al-Miteeri (AKA “Abu Usama Al-Jazrawi” – the Saudi leader of Al-Nusra), Abdullah Nassar (Field Commander of Al-Nusra), Firaas Al-Fakhouri, “Abu ‘Amir Al-Shaami”, ‘Uday Al-‘Abdo (Iraqi), ‘Abbas Saleh Nasser, Ahmad ‘Aamer (“Abu Bakr Al-Shamseeni”), Mohammad Majd Al-Moqdad, “Abu Jindal Al-Homsi”, “Abu Jindal Al-Jazrawi” (Saudi Al-Nusra leader), Mohammad Khayr Al-Rastan, ‘Uday Mohammad AL-Tayasini, “Abu Khattab Al-Taybaani”, Abdel-Kareem Al-Nasser, and Abdel-Rahman Al-Houri."

Also, don´t pay too much attention to the article. Huge waves of terrorists come from Turkey regularly and are usually crushed within some weeks by the Syrian forces. The prior articles also show that the terrorists are suffering huge losses what indicates that the offensive will soon be over.

Syrian Army Takes Back Two Villages Near Jisr Al-Shughour

"On Thursday, the Syrian Armed Forces countered the militants from the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” in the southern part of the Jisr Al-Shughour District, taking control of two villages near the Syrian Government’s main supply route in the western countryside of the Idlib Governorate.

The Syrian Arab Army’s 87th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division – in cooperation with the National Defense Forces (NDF) – attacked the militants of Jabhat Al-Nusra and Jaysh Al-Muhajireen at Jub Al-Ahmar and Tal Wassit, where they were able to capture these villages after fierce clashes with the Islamist militants in this rural area.

According to a military source in the Idlib Governorate, the SAA’s 87th Brigade and the NDF killed over two dozen enemy combatants during their attack at Jub Al-Ahmar and Tal Wassit; this is also the first time the Syrian Armed Forces have entered these villages in three days.

Jabhat Al-Nusra and their allies from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Ajnad Al-Sham attempted to infiltrate past the SAA’s frontline defenses at the southern flank of the Jisr Al-Shughour National Hospital; however, the assault on the heavily fortified National Hospital was unsuccessful for the sixth day in a row.

While charging the Jisr Al-Shughour National Hospital, the Islamist militants sustained heavy casualties once again, as the soldiers from the 87th Brigade reported over 30 enemy combatants killed during the attack.

North of Frikka, the SAA’s “Tiger Forces” secured the Frikka-Ariha Road after militants from Jabhat Al-Nusra and Jaysh Al-Mujahireen attempted to disrupt this country roadway used by the Syrian Armed Forces to resupply their entrenched soldiers at the city of Ariha in the southern Idlib Governorate.

As the militants retreated from the Frikka front to nearby Malqah and Al-Marj, the Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) targeted these combatants with powerful airstrikes, leaving many of them dead and wounded."

Breaking: the Syrian Army Captures Al-Tanimiyah Checkpoint in South Jisr Al-Shughour

Suicide Nusra´s attempt to hit the hospital foiled. The terrorists didn´t start the attack thereafter.

The Syrian Arab Army has recaptured the strategic Al-Tanimiyah Checkpoint near the village of Al-Sirmaniyah after militants from the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and their allies from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Jaysh Al-Muhajireen took over this area earlier this week.

As of Friday, the SAA’s 87th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division is now less than a kilometer from the village of Al-Sirmaniyah; if the Syrian Armed Forces are successful in capturing this village in south Jisr Al-Shughour, they will have reversed much of the Islamist gains in the southern part of the district.

Moments ago, an Islamist suicide bomber attempted to ram his vehicle into the Jisr Al-Shughour National Hospital, where his comrades have continuously attacked the southern and western flanks in order to force out the SAA soldiers entrenched inside this medical facility.

However, the suicide attack by the unknown assailant was repelled, as his bomb detonated before it could impact the SAA’s frontline fortifications; this forced the militants from Jabhat Al-Nusra to withhold their attack due to the large presence of SAA soldiers in the vicinity of the hospital.

Syrian Armed Forces Continue to Make Gains in Northeast Latakia

"The Syrian Armed Forces launched an offensive in northeast Latakia earlier this week, targeting the small pocket of territory the armed militants from the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and their allies from the Free Syrian Army affiliated “Coastal Brigades” control in this province.

On Friday morning, the Syrian Arab Army’s Special Forces – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) – stormed the rugged area surrounding Raweesah Al-Ghanam and pushed their way into this Jund Al-‘Aqsa controlled village, killing two dozen enemy combatants and destroying four armored vehicles.

After a long drawn out battle for control of Raweesah Al-Ghanam, the SAA’s Special Forces and the NDF were able to secure this village located 11km west of the strategic town of Salma; this success comes in light-of the recent SAA and NDF gains near Al-Rabiyah, Al-Akrad Mountains, and the Prophet Younis Mountains.

The Syrian Armed Forces’ recent capture of Jubb Al-Ahmar in the Prophet Younis Mountains has paved the way for the SAA to secure another border with Al-Ghaab Plains; thus, further securing the border of Latakia with Idlib."

Islamist Offensive Falling Apart Near Jisr Al-Shughour

"As the third week of the Jaysh Al-Fatah offensive sets to begin, the Islamist groups that form this militant coalition have begun to experience a string of defeats at the hands of the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) in the southern part of the Jisr Al-Shughour District.

Perhaps, the most telling tale of this collapse in the Jaysh Al-Fatah offensive was the Syrian Armed Forces reversing much of the latter’s gains in the northern part of the Al-Ghaab Plains, where they were able to recapture the villages of Tal Wassit, Al-Misheek, Jubb Al-Hamra, and swaths of territory in Qastoun.

This failure to maintain control of their initial gains near Jisr Al-Shughour has left Jaysh Al-Fatah at the mercy of the Syrian Armed Forces powerful counter-assault at the northern part of the Al-Ghaab Plains in the Idlib Governorate.

On Saturday, things did not get any better for the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and their allies from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham and Jaysh Al-Muhajireen, as the SAA’s 87th Brigade of the 11th Division encircled the strategic villages of Al-Sirmaniyah and Al-Ziyarah, where they later began a counter-offensive.

North of the Syrian Government controlled town of Ghaniyah, the 87th Brigade continued their counter-assault towards the village of Ishtabraq, killing 22 militants from Ajnad Al-Sham and Jund Al-Aqsa before they were able to advance their positions to the north.

East of Ariha, the militants from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham attempted to advance at the Ma’ar Tab’i Hill; however, their attack was repelled and countered by the National Defense Forces (NDF), who later declared the hill under their full control after they captured Tal SyriaTel nearby.

According to a military source, the Syrian Arab Army soldiers that are entrenched at the Jisr Al-Shughour National Hospital are in good health – the source followed-up by stating that the Al-Qaeda militants were unable to breach the building’s security apparatus on Saturday, despite fierce clashes at the southern perimeter."

Idlib: Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham Intensifies the Pressure on Ariha

"The militants from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham have recently intensified their attack on the Syrian Government stronghold of Ariha, striking the Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and National Defense Forces (NDF) at the imperative hills of Tal Ma’ar Tab’i and Tal SyrianTel which overlook this city in the Idlib Governorate.

With the SAA’s 87th Brigade of the 11th Tank Division recapturing the Al-Ghaab Plains, the militants from Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham have concentrated their attention on the Jisr Al-Shughour National Hospital and the town of Ariha, where they hope to cutoff the Syrian Government’s final supply route to the province.

Three days after the SAA captured Tal SyrianTel, the militants from Ahrar Al-Sham were successful in retaking this imperative hill near Tal Ma’ar Tab’i, pushing the 87th Brigade to east towards the military checkpoints outside of Ariha.

Nearby Tal SyrianTel, the SAA’s 87th Brigade was successful in repelling the Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham attack on Tal Ma’ar Tab’i, killing over 20 militants on the eastern flank of this hill; this is the last hill before reaching the city of Ariha and the most strategic point for all parties involved.

At the Jisr Shughour National Hospital, the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” – in coordination with Jaysh Al-Muhajireen and Ajnad Al-Sham – attempted to infiltrate the besieged Syrian Army’s positions at this facility; however, they were repelled at the southern flank after sustaining significant casualties during their charge.

Southeast of the Jisr Al-Shughour National Hospital, the SAA’s Tiger Forces continued their assault on the militants from Jabhat Al-Nusra at the Sugar Factory, taking complete control of the southern and eastern perimeters before nightfall on Monday.

Fierce clashes were also reported at the Al-Mastouma Orchards, where Jabhat Al-Nusra and Harakat Ahrar Al-Sham attempted to infiltrate into after the SAA’s Tiger Forces took complete control of this rugged area – the breach attempt was unsuccessful.

East of Al-Mastouma, firefights between the NDF and Jabhat Al-Nusra militants continued at Tal Masayabeen, as both parties exchanged rounds of gunfire and mortar shells in order to advance their positions at this integral hill between Al-Mastouma and the Qarmeed Camp."
