Where Nusra and its allies operate, ISIS is not far:

"PROVINCES,(ST)-Syrian army units have reassembled themselves south of Idlib city and have foiled ISIS terrorists' infiltration bid into military checkpoints east of Palmyra city amid continuity of military operations against terrorist organizations in Aleppo, Daraa, Quneitra and Homs, according to the official news agency (SANA).

The agency said today that army units reassembled themselves south of Idlib city to confront thousands of terrorists, who had come from Turkey.

It added that army units stopped the progress of terrorist organizations from the northeastern and southwestern edges of Idlib city and they are engaged in a fierce fighting with terrorists to restore stability to the area.

A military source told SANA that army units carried out concentrated strikes against terrorists groupings that infiltrated into the national museum and into the surrounding of the industrial city at the eastern entry of Idlib city.

Hundreds of terrorists were killed in the strikes, the source confirmed.

Other strikes were carried out by army units against terrorist groupings in towns of al-Eweja, al-Manashir and al-Sh'qef and on the surrounding of Dweir al-Zeiton and Bashkwi in Aleppo countryside.

Infiltration bid into military checkpoints

However, in the central region, army units in cooperation with the competent authorities foiled infiltration attempt by an armed terrorist group linked to the ISIS into military checkpoints in al-Sekhneh area, which lies east of Palmyra city.

Large numbers of ISIS terrorists were mowed down in the confrontations, SANA reporter said, adding that army units seized a quantity of weapons, munitions and bombs.

Further terrorists were eliminated and several vehicles belonging to them were destroyed as army units targeted terrorist hideouts in the eastern and northern countryside of Homs and in the northwestern countryside of Daraa as well as in the southeastern countryside of Quneitra."

"A Syrian military source accused Turkey Monday of helping Islamist rebels to stage an assault on Idlib, a provincial capital which fighters seized at the weekend.

Echoing more general comments by President Bashar Assad, the military source accused both Turkey and Jordan of supporting the insurgents in their Idlib offensive, saying they were "leading operations and planning them." The insurgents were using advanced communication apparatus that had been supplied to them via Turkey, the source added.

The Turkish foreign ministry declined to comment.

The Islamist alliance rejected a call by the Turkish-based mainstream political opposition to let an interim government set up its headquarters in Idlib, saying it would ruled by those "in the trenches and not in hotels.""

My, my, the Little Boy certainly has a dirty mouth when he has his hissy fits which needs to be washed out with soap. Does anyone think that he will ever admit that many of the current refugees were trying to escape Assad's regime?

In the thread about the child from Syria having a heart disease and being saved by a charity, the boy's father reported the following, and that after they left Syria, their building was bombed by Assad's jets and many of his friends were killed....

Dodging bombs and bullets, his family first fled their Aleppo home just weeks before it was blown to bits by President Assad’s jets.

Keep your shit outside my threads. If the people flee the "Assad regime", why did they stay until your Al-Qaeda terrorists came? It is evident how dirty-minded you are, full of shit. No word about Al-Qaeda from you. You are a true misanthrope. Why don´t you invite Al-Qaeda to "liberate" your town? Maybe you can tell us how the residents flee the US-government, then. You pig.

News:

"Syrian rebel fighters and allies from the al-Nusra Front advanced on a regime military base in the province of Idlib in northwestern Syria on Friday.

According to military sources, rebels backed by Nusra (Syrian branch of al-Qaeda) were engaged in fierce clashes with pro-regime forces in northwestern Idlib for the last two days.

“After a tactical operation by our forces, we were able to reach the vicinity of the Mastura military base,” Abu Musa al-Idlibi, a rebel fighter from the al-Fatih Army, told ARA News.

Mastura (7km south of Idlib city) is considered the biggest regime-held military base in the province of Idlib.

The Syrian opposition forces of the al-Fatih Army (an umbrella for several Islamist factions, FSA battalions and the al-Nusra Front) seized last week the entire city of Idlib.

According to reports with the fall of the city of Idlib, pro-Assad forces in the province are only in control of two towns and few districts, along with the Abu Duhur military airport and five military bases."

"The Syrian Armed Forces – led by the Syrian Arab Army’s “Tiger Forces” Brigade – continued their offensive in the Idlib Governorate on Thursday, attacking a number of villages under the control of the Syrian Al-Qaeda group “Jabhat Al-Nusra” and their affiliates near the provincial capital.

After seizing Kafr Najd and Nahlaya, the Tiger Forces – in coordination with the National Defense Forces (NDF) and the 11th Tank Division – stormed the Jabhat Al-Nusra controlled village of Koreen, fighting their way to the village-center after fierce clashes for most of the day on Thursday.

According to a military source in Idlib, the Syrian Armed Forces now control more than 50 percent of Koreen; this includes the southeastern entrance to the village and most of the village-center.

Northeast of Koreen, the NDF is involved in a violent battle with Harakat ‘Ahrar Al-Sham and Jabhat Al-Nusra for control of Fayloun – a village that sits just southwest of Idlib City.

On Thursday, the NDF finally expanded their control over the southeastern sector of Fayloun after breaking through Jabhat Al-Nusra’s frontline defenses inside the village, killing at least 20 enemy combatants in the process of their advance.

Southeast of Idlib City, the Tiger Forces and their allies pounded the militants from the Jabhat Al-Nusra affiliate “Jund Al-Aqsa” with a barrage of artillery shells at Qameenas, where they followed with a powerful ground assault to take control of the eastern sector of the village.

As a result of their success at Qameenas, the Tiger Forces were able to clear a path for the SAA’s 11th Tank Division to begin their advance towards the strategic town of Sarmeen, while the former pushes north towards the small village of Danit.

The Syrian Armed Forces’ expansion to the east and west appears to be the inception of a pincer movement to attack the provincial capital from the eastern and western flanks.

Despite the SAA’s offensive, the militants from Jabhat Al-Nusra and Harakat ‘Ahrar Al-Sham still attacked the NDF’s positions near the Brick Factory near Al-Mastouma; however, assault achieved limited success, as the Islamist forces were eventually pushed back to the east.

The Syrian Arab Air Force (SAAF) continued where they left off yesterday, launching 66 airstrikes over the province of Idlib on Thursday, while their allies on the ground were on the offensive.

Among the SAAF’s prevalent targets was the Bab Al-Hawa border-crossing into Turkey that is used as a primary entrance for the Islamist forces.

The SAAF bombarded the main road to the border-crossing at least a dozen times; it has become an easy target for the SAAF, who benefitted immensely from the Turkish Army’s closure of the border-crossing for civilians – only militants on the road now."
