Bali because it's a secular Muslim state that resists efforts to desecularize it's government. Same with Indonesia. With Manila, in the southern Phillipines, there is a strong Muslim core, and they're trying to encourage Muslims in that area to turn against the Filipino government and break away their own Muslim state. I don't know what the reason was in Germany, but I suspect it was similar to the reasoning behind the Spain and London attacks.

So why did not the terrorists go after Saddam? His forgein policy was quite intrusive, he invaded two of his neigboring nations. Also he was quite power hunger and secular and would have not let his country or power be controlled by Clery. He and his regime are responsible for large numbers of muslim deaths.

Probably because the Western alliance was already involved against Saddam, and the terrorists thought we would take care of the problem for them. Remember, what they wanted was a theocracy. They knew if we removed Saddam and his cronies from power, the theocratically-inclined Shiites would most likely take over, thus their goal is accomplished with them having to waste any resources or manpower. It wasn't until after we invaded and initially failed to take Saddam out that bin Laden finally issued a call for Muslims to bring him the head of Saddam, probably because it was starting to look like we weren't going to succeed in taking him out.

Not to mention that Saudi Arabia also kicked OBL out and stripped him of his citizenship. Me thinks OBL has problems with everyone and anyone who doesnt bow down to his form of Islam.

fair enough....why were they not against him when we were with him then?
