Terrible Grammar in Media

Every single day, I read three or four articles online that contain some of the dumbest mistakes in writing. Sometimes there are words misspelled, but more often, entire words are missing from sentences. I am not talking about those of us who post to message boards such as this one. Actually, I think the writing is better here in many cases. I'm talking about articles that are written by "journalists" or "writers" who are being paid for their articles.

Who pays these people to write without even double checking their spelling and grammar? It is pathetic as far as I am concerned. Even when I send an E-mail, I use spellcheck and double check to make sure I haven't made any silly mistakes. I realize that everyone can make a typo every now and then, but what I see in these articles every day is just ridiculous.

Does this bother anyone else?

It seems to be the result of the younger generation moving into the business.

Well that and more empahasis on producing quantity vs quality.

I see it all the time too. I don't care about spelling and grammer in forums but in news web articles? It's pathetic.
