The report just came out saturday.

You see they made him resign recently.

He was carreer military and having to do the report killed his carreer.

He told the truth in the report which included that Rummy was covering his ass.

If he had covered for Rummy the military would have never trusted his ass again either.

He was dead in the water either way.

He chose to tell the truth!

A good man who the military will now no longer have in its ranks.

This guy was given a tuff job and he did it Yet he still payed the price because his CIC was Bush.

Thanks for supporting my argument that leftwingnuts just regurgitate talking points.

Correct me if I am wrong .... all of the Army National Guard prison guards implicated in violating the law have been tried and punished.

What price is it this general supposedly paid?

The General’s Report
by Seymour M. Hersh
http://www.newyorker.com/reporting/2...?currentPage=2

"Taguba, looking back on his testimony, said, “That’s the reason I wasn’t in their camp—because I kept on contradicting them. I wasn’t about to lie to the committee. I knew I was already in a losing proposition. If I lie, I lose. And, if I tell the truth, I lose.”

Taguba had been scheduled to rotate to the Third Army’s headquarters, at Fort McPherson, Georgia, in June of 2004. He was instead ordered back to the Pentagon, to work in the office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Reserve Affairs. “It was a lateral assignment,” Taguba said, with a smile and a shrug. “I didn’t quibble. If you’re going to do that to me, well, O.K. We all serve at the pleasure of the President.” A retired four-star Army general later told Taguba that he had been sent to the job in the Pentagon so that he could “be watched.” Taguba realized that his career was at a dead end."

For some reason, Hersh has very little credibility regarding truth:

He's known for adding inflammatory and admittedly not always true pr to his 'stories.'

Example of just such:

There sure is a LONG list of "disgruntled" employees in this admin.

Why is that do you suppose?

Why did they choose him to do the inveatigation if he was a bad employee?

Kathy I gave you a quote from Tuguba himself.

If Tuguba feels he was misquoted I bet he will sue the shit out of Hersh.

Do you think he will?

Again tm, he felt he wasn't taken seriously, enough. He did get to see Rumsfeld though. Have you ever felt your boss, husband, a message board did not give your opinion the weight you felt it deserved? Too bad for you that Hersh really isn't interested in airing your grievances on that.

Where does it or I say he was a bad employee? He is obviously a disgruntled FORMER employee for whom it could be said EXACTLY what he is accusing Rumsfield of ... he's just trying to cover HIS OWN ass.

so you just make up a reason to not believe him and that is good enough for you?

I believe him because he had nothing to gain or lose.

Rummy has lied to us over and over.

I just dont understand how you guys seem to dismiss Americans who step out and Tell the inside story of what the Bush admin has done and one word is enought to end all questions for you?

Disgruntled is a magic word for those who need to believe in the Bush admin no matter what I quess.

How about Richard Clarke and Paul O'Neil they had nothying to gain either?
