All over the place. There really isn't a whole lot of coherence.
My personal ideas are
My guesses are States Rights are a good thing But that is too fuzzy a notion to have a position on.
Taxes are exesssive and should be cut for me at least
Legal immigration is cool, but illegals should be sent home
Health care reform should be based on cutting costs, rather than more government intervention
Green is a scam.

But this is just me, and may not be representative.

Tell you where they stand on specific issues? You say there is a lot of information out there. Well, have you read through any? Here you're going to get individual opinions depending on what is most important to the individual Tea Partier.

Here's a start.

Please read the OP and the attached link. You might also want to read through the numerous Tea Party bashing threads here on this Tea Party board. I'm sure you'll find much within it's threads.

I think a lot of people are taking the word "Party" as LITERALLY meaning a third political party. In fact, it's being treated as "business as usual" thinking - trying to analyze this, that or the other in terms of PAST political third party tradition/history and how it stands up to or compares to those efforts. Every damned little word spoken these days has to be micro-examined to figure out "What does it MEAN?! What does it MEAN?!" [Let's cause a nation-wide or world-wide panic over every conceivable word in the dictionary. It's ridiculous.]

If anyone ever studied history in grammar school, they have heard of the "Boston Tea Party" and how the colonists had issues of, among other things, unjust taxation by the King. Today's "Tea Party" has simply BORROWED the name because of the similarities in yesterday's issues with those of yesterday. You don't have to be a "Tea Partier" at all to dislike ILLEGAL immigration, egregious taxation, out of control government, or anything else regarding governmental issues.

The 10-goal list list of principles is modeled after the GOP’s Contract with America in 1994. The paper pledge that was engineered by Newt Gingrich gave the electorate a rallying cry which helped propel the GOP election sweep in the mid-term election that year.

This year’s Contract From America is truly a grassroots effort. The concept was the brainchild of Ryan Hecker of the Houston Tea Party movement. The idea of a new conservative contract in 2010 caught fire as hundreds of local tea party organizations banded together to promote a website effort.

On the website visitors were asked to vote on the issues most important to them in creative a new contract from America. The vote is in and a 10-principle pledge is the result:

1. Protect the Constitution
2. Reject Cap and Trade
3. Demand a Balanced Budget
4. Enact Fundamental Tax Reform
5. Restore Fiscal Responsibility and Constitutionally Limited Government in Washington
6. End Runaway Government Spending
7. Defund, Repeal, and Replace Government-run Health Care
8. Pass an ‘All-of-the-Above” Energy Policy
9. Stop the Pork
10. Stop the Tax Hikes.

my ideas are probably considered far off but i will list them

i am very close to a journalism degree and have been wanting to be actively involved in politics for some time now. I want to find a place to express my idea's . It seems to me that the tea party has no real leadership, they could make a bigger impact if organized correctly.

I will also say that i am a huge fan of Thomas Jefferson. i have studied him quite a bit in school and really connect with his beliefs

my ideas

1.STATE RIGHTS: i believe in very limited government. the government should only be in place to organize the army. settle state disputes over resources. be the face of our union for other country's. furthermore i believe that the branches of government are not keeping one another in check the executive branch has to much power.

the government no longer answers to the people i feel that we are no answering to them.

the government should be more active in protecting our rights

2.TAXES: supply side economics should be applied much more rigorously.

3.IMMIGRATION: of course i am against illegal immigration. ( i really don't want to go into this subject right now)

4.HEALTH CARE: no mandatory health care.no health care based on socialism .
( the government should regulate the price of insurance i know it seems socialist to have regulations like this, but i do feel that insurance agency have a monopoly over us.)

What school are you getting your degree from, and how much longer do you have until you graduate?

good luck with school.

I'm not a tea party person and i don't really care what they believe in because they don't believe in anything... except of course that they're the same dead-enders who thought bush was peachy keen.

that said:

1. States' rights is a non-issue. If the states were supposed to be pre-eminent, we'd still be living under the articles of confederation. any other question about so-called 'states rights' is disposed of by the fact that no state law can conflict with federal law. they can give greater constitutional protections, but never less. and state law can be pre-empted by federal law, not vice versa. any lingering questions were disposed of by the civil war.

2. supply side is a scam... even daddy bush called it voodoo economics. and it's the reason for the crash in 2008.

3. illegal immigration is complicated because no one will enforce our current laws. the right sees it as cheap labor for corporations. the left doesn't want to offend hispanic voters.

4. health care... without reform, we would be paying 50% of our GDP for health care in 10 years. that would be unsustainable. there is nothing wrong with making sure people have health insurance. That isn't 'socialism.

Odd. I seem to be recalled being told that the tea party has no leaders. So how can a group with no leaders have a list of principles? :eusa_think:

People who support constitutionally limited government, balanced budgets and free markets don't require a leader for a movement. They simply require candidates for public office to believe as they do.

they need a leader they could be a very influential group, they need a criteria as well. unity will help them. about how much of the population do they represent?

That sounds great, but what ticket do they run on? The Republican? Democrat? Libertarian? Tea Party Ticket? Green Party?

Independents need to regroup and unite as ONE if things are going to change. I don't see it happening with the Tea Party people, there is too much chaos and confusion on who/what they stand for.

Maybe they could organize and have one agenda/platform before election time.

about 25% of voters say they relate to the tea parties. but in reality they are demographically bush's base.

They support a candidate, not a party. The supported candidate may be from any party.

I AGREE . originally however there where no party's at least the system was not designed to have them. many founding fathers were against political party's

i have one question to me it seems that there are not alot of people against nafta i have always thought that it should be repealed it hurts the middle class there are no real jobs left in this country . not enough to support us anyways

68% of Americans have a positive view of Progressives.

I think those 21% of Americans who have a positive view of militias are the same as the tea baggers. They are America's lunatic fringe.
