Tell me how paranoid I am

If you think you're paranoid, then you probably aren't.;)

One of my favorite movie lines (paraphrased): "Just because you think they are watching you, it doesn't mean they aren't".:)

Or, to say the same thing a different way:

"Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they aren't out to get you"

QW, get help. NOW.

(You did ask. :D )

Context matters, people. Sheesh.

Please explain the contest of a government official talking about reeducation that makes it favorable.

Umm, because "reeducation" in the way you're trying to use it isn't what she even means. She's simply talking about clearing up misrepresentations of the Bill. But that's pretty easy to acknowledge for an honest dude.

You just beat me to it.

“Unfortunately there still is a great deal of confusion about what is in [the reform law] and what isn’t,” Sebelius told ABC News Radio on Monday.

With several vulnerable House Democrats now touting their votes against the bill, and Republicans running on repeal of the law, Sebelius said “misinformation given on a 24/7 basis” has led to the enduring opposition nearly six months after the lengthy debate ended in Congress.

“We have a lot of reeducation to do,” Sebelius said.

My question, are they going to set up camps for this, or just stick us into a basement somewhere until we accept the truth?
I doubt you're paranoid, more likely you are being a propagandist.

Re-education is what commies are all about.

What do you call twisting someone's words? Intellectual dishonesty, which naturally throws suspicion on the "commie" comment and leads one to wonder about the motives of those who would sow dissension amongst their fellow countrymen. During the Spanish Civil War they were called "fifth-columnists"; those sent ahead to lower the morale of the defenders. Any wonder we need to keep an eye on the righties and their fascist tendencies???
I am a "Rightie", I am a constitutionalist, I beleive that you should govern according to the constitution. I also beleive that the left is nothing but a bunch of socialists who beleive wrongly that we the people should live our lives in the way the govt. dictates. THEY ARE WRONG. The health care bill/law is nothing more thatn a way the govt. took over a little more of our lives. Idiots.

Re education is a loaded phrase that applies to government brain washing. It has never been used in any other way, yet I am supposed to think that a government official, speaking in an official capacity about an unpopular program, suddenly has found a benign definition that the rest of the world missed. Especially when one of the things she wants to make part of her reeducation campaign about this is an outright lie.

You would have a better chance of convincing me she is an idiot than you would of convincing me this word means something other than it does. The fact that you are opting for the second tells me how desperate you find your position.

Hmm.

A government official starts talking about reeducation, and I am a propagandist.

Don't you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought?... Has it ever occurred to your, Winston, that by the year 2050, at the very latest, not a single human being will be alive who could understand such a conversation as we are having now?... The whole climate of thought will be different. In fact, there will be no thought, as we understand it now. Orthodoxy means not thinking—not needing to think. Orthodoxy is unconsciousness.

Yea, it's nobody's fault but your own that you're ignoring her surrounding context and being disengenuous, thus appearing either paranoid or indeed a propogandist.

When everyone is out to get you, paranoia is just good thinking.

Because regardless of how many times the key provisions of health care reform have been explained in thousands of articles, on television, on the Internet, etc., even by your own lawmakers, and on this message board, there remain people out there who either still don't understand, or are so disinterested that they feign ignorance. So "reeducating" the public on the major provisions is necessary. It's a fucking no-brainer--as usual--and to imply something sinister only makes YOU look like an idiot.

You're overlooking a third possibility - that thinking people have examined Obamacare closely enough to see it for what it is: a blatantly unconstitutional power grab by central government.

Then, please - by all means - reeducate us, Maggie. You have two avenues of attack, as I see it:

A. Obamacare is NOT a blatantly unconstitutional power grab by central government, and

B. You say "blatantly unconstitutional power grab by central government" like it's a BAD thing.

Which of these two positions will you take the unenviable job of defending?

If it's unconstitutional then where are all of the tough-guy conservative freedom fighters taking it on in court and winning? Unconstitutional is a fun word to throw around, but when used it should at least have some fucking balls behind it. It's becoming a pretty cheapened expression.

It's up to the Supreme Court to determine it's Constitutionality. And intelligent people looking at the Health Care bill see that it's a bone thrown to Insurance companies, not "government takeover" or a power grab.

What exactly has the government "taken over" with the health care plan? What "power" did they "grab"?

I don't like the healthcare plan at all. But I think the "re-education" comes into play when people still think that there are "death panels", or "government healthcare" or "Socialism" in the Bill.
