Teens Suspended in Cyber Bullying Suicide Case

Two Mass. high school students have been suspended following the suicide of a teen girl who was allegedly bullied at school and online, the BostonHerald.com reported.

Friends and school officials told MyFoxBoston.com that Phoebe Prince, 15, had been picked on since moving to Massachusetts from Ireland last fall. School bullies reportedly taunted the teen through text messages, Facebook and other social networking sites.

South Hadley High School superintendent Gus Sayer said there have been students "disciplined already in connection with the incident," BostonHerald.com reported. "There’s still an investigation going on, which may lead to disciplinary action against other students," said Sayer.

Even after her death, bullies posted disparaging messages on her Facebook memorial page. The comments had to be removed from the page.

Should the school be able to discipline the students if they cyber bullied from their home computers? I think we had this discussion before...

All they have to do is check the time of text and other messages, and attendance records, and any that were at school are busted.

On the other hand, this IS Massachusetts, and these are the people who just elected a male who offered up his daughter to all comers when he was supposed to be doing an acceptance speech after an election.....
