Legally... yes, it is their choice and it probably should always be legal, but that does not mean the one who sees the fetus as a human being in an early stage of development should simply cave in to the whim of society and allow society to have its way with the life of the human residing in the womb.

Don't you think that if family history is filled with teen pregnancy, sex education in the school can end that sort of history? Obviously people in these families aren't being taught how to prevent pregnancy at home.

Do they have abstinence only programs in those states? Or just a high rate of Hispanics? I'm curious as to whether there is really a connection. I am not for abstinence only programs but I am also skeptical about the efficacy of more comprehensive programs. NJ has a very comprehensive program, but it's done very little good in the inner cities and in my own home town. I would suspect that 99% of teens know how NOT to get pregnant. Most of the teen moms I know wanted a baby.

I don't think hispanics are the problem in states like Mississippi. Alabama and Tennessee have pretty high teen pregnancy rates as well, if I remember correctly.


Teach them biological aspect of sex and pregnance. Then let them and their parents make the decision on what's "moral" and "right".

Check the stats and you'll find the Hispanic immigration to the south exploded between 1995 and 2005.

Let me try this again... society has desensitized us to abortion. Society makes it seem like abortion is nothing more than having a tooth pulled. When a woman is faced with a crisis pregnancy and scared to death, it is damned easy... too damned easy... to convince her that it is easy to accept the word of Planned Parenthood.

I didn't say they didn't know what they were doing, but society tells them that it doesn't matter.
