There are definitely some kinks to work out, but we'll get there. It's just too good of a source of energy to not improve it and utilize it. China is in the process of building hundreds of nuclear power plants in an effort to be less dependent on fossil fuels. They'll probably be the ones leading the way with that technology in the near future. One could argue that they already are.
