This is a tech-era imaginarium parable inspired by the relevant films Hackers, Toys, and Batteries Not Included.

Michael Myers was a young boy who loved ghost-stories until he saw his alcoholic father beat his mother to death which drove Michael insane. Michael's life itself now became a ghost story. He escaped from a lunatic-asylum at the age of 24 and terrorized his hometown in New Jersey on Halloween wearing a creepy white mask and mechanic's uniform he stole from a garage. Michael Myers became a 'legend' --- the Spook of Halloween! However, he started having a change-of-heart and wanted to invest in toys symbolic of the modern age. Would God forgive him?

Michael started work as a telemarketer in Virginia and used his salary to purchase vintage 1980s Transformers (Hasbro) A.I. mini-robot compact-cassette 'warriors.' These 'cassette-robots' mechanically transformed between robots and espionage-geared compact audio cassettes. Michael purchased about 30 of these compact-cassette robots. He considered them terrific modernism symbols of communications and espionage-intrigue in the era of the CIA and NSA. Michael considered becoming a toy-design consultant or an employee of Toys 'R Us, but he was psychologically not equipped to socialize in the business world, so he remained a private collector and dealer of these modernism-symbolic compact-cassette robots.

Michael made a special presentation to a U.S. government official, claiming that while other parts of the world flourished commercially in automobiles and consumer electronics, Americans stood out in the manufacturing/distribution of batteries (Duracell), computers (Apple), fast food (McDonald's), and of course, toys (Mattel, Fisher-Price, Toys 'R Us). Michael told this government official that his special collection of Transformers (Hasbro) compact-cassette robo-warriors were prime 'imaginarium totems' signifying America's cultural and aesthetic 'investment' in communications technology 'artifacts' and 'tech-themed art.' The government official was impressed with Michael's 'special report' and his compact-cassette robo-warrior collection 'presentation' and made a special recommendation to the government regarding tech-toy intellectual properties.

Michael was heartbroken that his 'special report' did not receive the attention he felt it deserved. Nevertheless, he was excited that the U.S. government official was intrigued by his evaluation of tech-toys as intellectual property that American society needed to 'safeguard' for the archaeological vitality of future generations. Michael believed that consumerism 'morality' depended on the proper 'alignment' of consumerism relic aesthetics valuation and hence the vanguarding of commerce and capitalism itself. Michael then decided to make a special 'side-deal' with Samsung (a South Korean electronics company) to license a special set of 'recommissioned' Transformers (Hasbro) compact-cassette robo-warriors. These 'redesigned' robo-warriors would be manufactured with gel-like opaque material and hence exhibit a cool glow. Samsung loved the idea and began manufacturing these 'commemorative toys.'

Michael was invited by Samsung to live in a fully-established estate in Seoul, and in two years, he became a millionaire. He was living happily and considered meeting a woman in an Internet chatroom and propositioning her for marriage. Michael Myers had come so far from his younger rebellious days living as the 'Spook of Halloween.' Now, he was real imaginarium-consultant, advising Samsung on the adequate marketing of these commemorative compact-cassette robo-warriors. Michael and Samsung now had a solid business contract, and the robo-cassette toys became arguably as popular as commemorative U.S. mint-coins usually sold in TV infomercials. Michael realized that these robo-cassette toys would be remembered as perfect symbols of proper consumerism valuation (and perhaps even a nod to consumer electronics and stereos which were so huge during Reaganomics!).

Michael was no longer the Spook of Halloween. Now, he was the King of Robo-Cassettes. Samsung turned this malcontent into an 'imaginarium-celebrity.' The U.S. government official who originally turned down Michael Myers' offer to market these commemorative robo-cassette toys through Toys 'R Us now bit his lip, regretful that he had not recognized a real archaeological treasure. God had forgiven Michael Myers. Michael decided to retire early and consult with Samsung very casually and receive special corporate benefits, sampling their newest hi-fi stereos. He even received a TV endorsement from a huge electronics-store in Seoul. Michael's only regret was that he could not retire in America; however, when he met a beautiful young Korean woman (an employee of Samsung) named Kathy and married her, his life felt complete...completely.

One night, Michael was listening to his newest Samsung stereo in his lavish Seoul mansion. Kathy was on a business trip to San Francisco (selling Michael's robo-cassette commemorative toys to LEGO!), and Michael was home all alone, listening to the Beach Boys on his Samsung stereo. Suddenly, Michael started hearing a strange whispering sound coming from his stereo. The sound seemed to develop into some eerie and ominous narrative (male) voice, and it spoke to him directly! The voice told him that his robo-cassette commemorative toys were incendiary and controversial, since they glorified espionage and therefore were heretical. Michael was shocked and asked the voice who he was, and the voice strangely told him, "I'm not God or a ghost; I'm a guardian-spirit of toys here to tell you that capitalism will never ever ever be...patriotic!"
