If someone asks a question you are uncomfortable answering, just have them forcibly escorted off the property....arrest them if necessary!

Teacher Arrested For Asking Why Superintendent Got A Raise

Filed Under:Arrested, Chris Melore, Local TV, Louisiana, superintendent, talkers, teacher, teachers, Vermilion Parish

CBS Local — A chaotic scene broke out at a Louisiana school board meeting after a teacher was arrested, apparently for questioning why the board’s superintendent was being given a $38,000 pay raise.

Deyshia Hargrave, a middle school teacher in the Vermilion Parish school system, was videotaped being escorted out of a room and then wrestled into handcuffs by a city marshal on Jan. 8. The disturbing incident took place after Hargrave asked school board members to justify the massive raise while teachers and school employees had reportedly gone without a pay hike in years.

“I have a serious issue with a superintendent or any person of leadership getting any type of raise,” Hargrave was seen saying in a YouTube video. “I feel like it’s a slap in the face to all the teachers, cafeteria workers and any other support staff we have. We work very hard, with very little, to maintain the salaries we have.”

I can understand why you would be upset.

Republicans moved the wealth of the nation to the top 1% assuming it would "trickle down". When it doesn't, they say clearly, it wasn't enough and that was the fault of the Democrats.

If they don't like that teacher having a right to ask questions in this country, I am sure that United is ready for take off whenever they are.

God bless you and that teacher always!!!

Gee a politician and most likley a Democrat gave himself an absurd raise with tax money... It would be sad if it wasnt so normalized by the left

You have a right to attend public meetings.
You have a right to be heard at the appropriate time if the agenda allows it.
You don't have the right to interrupt a public meeting.
If you do interrupt and you are asked to leave you must do so immediately or you are trespassing.
If law enforcement is assisting you out and you resist you have the right to be arrested.

The School Board stated that they were not going to press charges. How kind of them.

This has nothing to do with any of that.

But it does have a lot to do with the fact that the fucking government does not need any more money to pay teachers all they have to do is thin out the top heavy administration

hell, what would they charge her with? Disorderly conduct for asking a question directly related to the discussion?
He just didnt like the question. Thats why he kept saying she was off topic. Little fucker..

She was disruptive just enough for me to appreciate her spunk. Without the complete facts I'm not in any position to agree with her point, but from what I saw of her treatment I likely would have walked out as she was being escorted out.

The way I see it both sides suck.
She's free to take up another line of work if she doesnt like teacher pay.
And nobody likes some asshole voting himself a huge raise.

It's wash in my book.

Absolutely. Anyone supporting this action is a fascist.

What does your post have to do with the OP?

Once again you upset because Trump didn't include you in his tax break?

What facts do you need , she is probably only paid 26 grand a year.

Probably? Well that would be one of them, teacher's salaries in the district compared to others in the state. Likewise with the dough they're paying to the Superintendent, how does his wages stack up? While the raise seems outrageous to me, after she was removed did anybody that remained see fit to take up her cause? From what I saw the audience was passive about the matter. I can only judge her treatment, not the facts of the matter.

don't know the whole story or if she was given time at first and then just pushed it in an emotional state. if she pushed it to the point that was the only way to remove her from the meeting, great. no problem.

there are much better ways to make your point than to become a problem along the way.
