Teabaggers livid w/ Boehner (R)

The final tab for Bush II's wars will prolly exceed $5 trillion PLUS the fact that he put them off-budget (grandchildren pay) AND we won't know if they will be successful for another 5-10 yrs.

I don't give a flying fuck or a rats ass where all the debt came from. It is time to stop it.

We have to cut spending. Even Obama admitted that it was unsustainable, just before he spent even more....

I am not so blind nor hard core that I would rule out anything. But the spending has got to be drastically cut.

**shrugs**

Where were you when bush started that damn war and didnt put it on the books. Why didnt you scream when he did the same thing with medicare part d?

Serious questions...why SUDDENLY do we have to stop when we are attempting to fix that mess he left us.

NOW we have to stop? Not then? Why is this?

Compounding the mess is not fixing it Sparky. ;)

Bush II started it off w/ the initial $800,000,000,000. Here's what he said about TARP:

"If you are the pres you don't have time to gamble and I didn't like using taxpayers money to bail out the people who got us in trouble. I didn't like it at all. But when you are president you are faced with stark choices and I couldn't have lived with myself had the country gone into a deep depression"

The tea partiers live in a fantasy world. They should be angry at the Repubs who drafted the bill to repeal the Glass-Steagal Act:
Glass
The bill that ultimately repealed the Act was introduced in the Senate by Phil Gramm (Republican of Texas) and in the House of Representatives by Jim Leach (R-Iowa) in 1999.

Yeah. The Repubs spent like drunken sailors for 6-8 yrs and then when they are in the minority they have a prob w/ it? GTFO of here.

Hey dumb ass. Read what the fuck I said.

Then STFU.

If you notice, I didn't quote you. I was speaking to everyone. My statement stands on its own.

The Repubs spent like drunken sailors for 6-8 yrs and then when they are in the minority they have a prob w/ it?

In truth, if I were to Edit anything it would read like this....

The Repubs spent like Democrats for 6-8 yrs and then when they are in the minority they have a prob w/ it?

See, doesn't that work better. Pretty much a Bulls-Eye. God only knows why Republicans thinking they have to act like Democrats to be more accepted, driving us deeper into the pit, slowly, at least until The Democrats gain control and slam the peddle to the metal in warp drive. Hows that Socialist Utopia coming, or are you still burning Atlanta? You need to destroy all we have left, before you can start new, be honest, try it for once. ;)

If you must make the debt partisan i would suggest you pick something other than Tarp. Which I was against by the way. But as it turns out, It wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be and obviously not as bad as you want it to be.

Much of it is being paid back w/ interest too. It's a boogaboo of the right. The Repubs, at that time apparently, wouldn't be satisfied unless we went into a depression. No doubt grand-standing to appease the tea partiers.

The Repubs created DHS. Whats their budget again? Thats the grand daddy of government agencies next to the bloated pentagon where my check used to come from for a time.

The term is "Tea Party" rather than "tea bagger" which is your girly man expression for the democrat party's favorite passtime. All this anti Tea Party rhetoric is inspired by the tax exempt Soros socialist think tanks like Media Matters.

Ummm.......what kind of post is that? Personal attack because I'm a vet AND devoid of any content relating to the topic too?
This is true. Cuts are one thing but canting them exclusively towards the middle-class and poor is another.

In short, lefty says, no cuts ever at all.

Teapartiers want Boehner (R) to hold the country hostage. He's a good establishment Repub so he aint doin it.

you know what, you fikken people are sick. our country is going BROKE. you can't suck much more blood from the people who WORK in this country. Cuts need to be made and the dept ceiling shouldn't be raised AGAIN.

Well, yes. We have a problem. A problem created by a GOP tax cut, and two wars that were paid for off of the books. Now you are trying to shift the blame to the current administration. Won't work. We know who created this situation.

It is people like you that are sick. We are going to change the tax code so that those who have benefited from our nation pay their fair share. And we will retain both SS and Medicare. We will make both more efficient. SS future income problem can be solved right now by raising the top of the SS tax from 109K to 250K. SS and Medicare could be taken care of by making the 4.2% I pay apply to all income.

Of course, for those that cannot stand the idea of paying taxes, there is always Somalia. No taxes and very few regulations there.

Oh, quite on the contrary. Many cuts. Some to social programs that have failed in their objectives, even more in military programs and bases that have no reason for existance. We just are not going to sacrifice our seniors and children for the benefit of the corperations and very wealthy.

That means cuts and tax increases, some of the increases substancial for those that have been avoiding their fair share for years.

It isn't as if the Republican's true allegiances aren't known.

McConnell's Wall Street meeting prompts criticism from Democrats

Given that reality, here's the latest infighting:

Analysis: Stuck between the Tea Party and a hard place - Politics - More politics - msnbc.com
One of the 25 or so leaders, all from Boehner's district, asked him if Republicans would raise America's $14.3 trillion debt limit.

According to half a dozen attendees interviewed by Reuters, the most powerful Republican in Washington said "yes."

"And we're going to have to raise it again in the future," he added. With the mass retirement of America's Baby Boomers, he explained, it would take 20 years to balance the U.S. budget and 30 years after that to erase the nation's huge fiscal deficit.
That answer incensed many of the Tea Party activists, for whom raising the debt limit is anathema.
Whats a guy to do? Teabaggers on one side and Karl Rove on the other.

There is a power struggle between Cons and the Teaparty but in the end, they will all support each other. Additionally when one faction looks good politically, the other does too and vice versa.

What is a fair share? Because I have more I pay a bigger percentage? How is that fair? I worked harder and smarter so I have to give up more for someone who refused to work? This is fair?

This is socialism straight from the book, and I for one will fight against it.

aw how cute, tell THAT to smokers.

THINK ABOUT IT!!! :banghead: "Shared" NOT "selective" sacrifice:

Greenspan's talk is useless. We need taxes to be even lower to expand the economy and increase revenues. Lefties don't get it and never will. SPENDING is the only problem, and ENTITLEMENTS have got to be reformed. They are unsustainable. PRIVATIZING the ownership of payroll taxes solves that problem and benefits all.

You lefties are responsible for the mess, and until you're defeated we will never fix the problem.

You have nearly thirty years of recent historical experience demonstrating that low taxes grow the economy and produce deficit-reducing increases in revenue. But, no, lefties still don't get it, i.e., the sheep don't. The elite get it; they just want to control your life. Spending is the problem. Nothing else. :banghead:
