It isn't as if the Republican's true allegiances aren't known.

McConnell's Wall Street meeting prompts criticism from Democrats

Given that reality, here's the latest infighting:

Analysis: Stuck between the Tea Party and a hard place - Politics - More politics - msnbc.com
One of the 25 or so leaders, all from Boehner's district, asked him if Republicans would raise America's $14.3 trillion debt limit.

According to half a dozen attendees interviewed by Reuters, the most powerful Republican in Washington said "yes."

"And we're going to have to raise it again in the future," he added. With the mass retirement of America's Baby Boomers, he explained, it would take 20 years to balance the U.S. budget and 30 years after that to erase the nation's huge fiscal deficit.
That answer incensed many of the Tea Party activists, for whom raising the debt limit is anathema.
Whats a guy to do? Teabaggers on one side and Karl Rove on the other.

No doubt, the debt needs to be addressed, but not with a the trastic surgery that someone like Ryan proposed. Most of the Tea Party would be happy eliminating medicare, medicaid, and other social programs for the poor. But they are not realistic. I expect most of them would vote to send the country into default. It could send the entire world into a Depression, from which it would take decades to correct.

Realism is not a forte of the group. Yes, painful cuts need to be made, but they need to be made in a balanced manner. Balanced cannot be defined as coming out of the block saying, "Tax increases for the wealthy are off the table." Then, in the same breath, talking about gutting Medicare.

I predict the Tea Party will run their own Presidential candidate in 2012. It will either be Bachmann, Palin, or Rand Paul. Let's see what happens.

Teapartiers want Boehner (R) to hold the country hostage. He's a good establishment Repub so he aint doin it.

This is true. Cuts are one thing but canting them exclusively towards the middle-class and poor is another.

message to these wisened-up fools.

Mob democracy is NOT healthy for a republican form of government.

The founders and the framers warned the Republic could fall victim to popular democracy.

"It's a republic if you can keep it."

agreed...and them running any of these idiots only shows how far away from reality they really are.

The key thing you just said was, they would vote this country into default. They really would I think and that just shows you how extreme tea baggers are. They really are.

The final tab for Bush II's wars will prolly exceed $5 trillion PLUS the fact that he put them off-budget (grandchildren pay) AND we won't know if they will be successful for another 5-10 yrs.
