They chose the word "movement" and the date of 2009 vs 2007 so they can pretend it has to do with Obama...painting the Tea Party Patriots with the race card and dismissing the fact that democrats and left of center people belong to the movement by using deceptive tactics .

The group of people with power are the group that stole the name from ron Paul and not his original group.


The tea party movement IS the group of people who now tell the republicans what they need to say to get elected.

A recent poll conducted by USA Today/Gallup indicates the tea party movement could be headed for a bit of trouble in the coming months. The poll revealed that there is a 14-point gap between those who perceive the tea party unfavorably (47 percent) and those who see it favorably (33 percent). It is the widest margin that has been exhibited by far concerning the relatively new political movement and it has occurred since January. Could the right-wing movement have pushed too hard with its message of reform, especially concerning Medicare, Social Security, unemployment benefits and collective bargaining? Or might it be that Americans do not particularly like living in the shadow of constant threat?

Conservative Republicans outnumber moderate/liberal Republicans in the general population by about a 2-to-1 margin; among Tea Party supporters, the ratio is well more than 3 to 1. More generally, almost 8 out of 10 Tea Party supporters are Republicans, compared with 44% of all national adults.
