Tea Party Crashing? Only 8% of Americans are Members...

Nobody wants to be a Tea Party member these days. How the tide turns..

Any USMB nutters willing to admit that they are Tea Partiers?
I love when people prove my point for me.

What point? That you don't want to be known as a Tea Partier........now?

The point you know but like to pretend you don't is that because a person supports some of the people or causes of a group does not make them a member of that group. For example Democrat Bernie Sanders is a self admitted socialist there are other Democrats in and out of Congress and probably on this board maybe even you who support him and share some of his views if we use your logic then people who support him and some views must automatically be members of the socialist party.

Let the dems try to confiscate our firearms and you'll see how many Tea Party members there are. I think you got an idea of how many Tea Party members there are by the number of gun sales since the election.

Dude,

The hallmark of a "Tea Partier" is the tendency to throw in with the loudest asshole of the moment. You seem to be offended when you are labeled as a "Tea Party Member". With good reason. There is NO SUCH THING!

This is appropriate.

" I am a conservative and a Republican. I have expressed support for the following people at one time or another:

Jim DeMint, Sarah Palin, Alan West, Joe Walsh, Christine O'Donnel, Glen Beck, Michelle Bachman

...........BUT.........don't call me a Tea Party member. I am NOT. A member of the Tea Party!!!!!!"

No they are Republicans who have been around a lot longer than the name Tea Party I have supported Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, Scott Walker, Paul Ryan, and Eric Cantor who are also considered Tea Party favorites. Now I am not a member of any of the Tea Party groups around the nation I have never attended any rallies or meetings by them never donated any money to them, So given this I don't consider myself a Tea Party member supporting some of the same people and goals of the Tea Party and being a member are very different things something it seems more than a few on the left can't differentiate between.

It could be said there really wasn’t ever a ‘tea party,’ some 70 percent were republicans or republican-leaning independents, extreme fiscal conservatives, and other far-right ideologues.

The notion of the TPM being a cross-section of America, made up of democrats and republicans alike, a grass-roots movement of average citizens was frankly a myth.

That is the liberal view of a Tea Party person while your welcome to it that does not mean it's true or accurate yes I get offended when anyone tries to label me as something I'm not If someone tried to label me as a radical NRA member because I support a persons right to own a gun even though I have never had anything to do with the NRA I would be offended by that as well. Finally in regards to Tea Party candidates there have been some good and some bad some of the bad have been mentioned and as I said before some I like Ted Cruz who just got voted in from my home state I find Marco Rubio impressive I liked Scott Brown when he was in the Senate none of whom I consider to be loud asshole's.
