So while O’Donnell’s vocal opposition to masturbation at first seems laughable, it’s part of a larger philosophy that we should take very seriously now that she’s running for Senate. Government interference in people’s sex lives may seem like a thing of the ancient past, but what are bans on gay marriage about, if not sex? And impediments to emergency contraception access? Just another reminder that Tea Partiers, who call themselves “the true owners of the United States,” have less interest in “small government” than in a tyranny of the minority.

Please fellow liberals, progressives, independents, and free thinkers, have a bit of pity and concern for conservatives, they love life so much the thought of masturbation is just too horrible. Each month the women hope hubby waits anxiously so they can, at the perfect time of fertility, create another wingnut. Imagine the anguish and the self control required to live as they do, the constant cold showers, the averting of eyes when some image appears that arouses them, the bible reading long into the night, the conversations with minister or priest. It's a hard heroic life of self denial for which a better world awaits them.
