Question - would you favor abandoning the federal income tax and replacing it with a direct tax on the states themselves, in proportion to their population (as counted for representation purposes) ?

This would allow states the right to determine how to raise their share of federal revenue - they could choose a flat income tax, a progressive income tax, property tax, sales tax, or any combinations of taxes legal under their and the U.S. constitutions.

What say you?

Only if in conjunction with the repeal of the 17th Amendment.
