We, the People built our democracy and the empowerment and protections it bestows. We built the infrastructure, schools and all of the public structures, laws, courts, monetary system, etc. that enable enterprise to prosper. That prosperity is the bounty of our democracy and by contract it is supposed to be shared and reinvested. That is the contract. Our system enables some people to become wealthy but all of us are supposed to benefit from this system. Why else would We, the People have set up this system, if not for the benefit of We, the People?

More accurately, intelligent tax cuts spur the economy which generates more revenue that can reduce the deficit unless you have a Congress who just sees that as more money to spend. You have to have a Congress committed to not excessively increasing spending coupled with a thriving economy to reduce the deficit. Right now we have neither.

I met plenty of people that left to form companies in places like the caribbean. Mainly on their way back to the United States because they missed all those things government "didn't" give them. Like people with an education..for starters.

Government was intended to be an agent of society. The Founders intended the Federal government to secure our rights and then otherwise leave us alone to form whatever society we wish to have.

Since Teddy Roosevelt, however, we have had a government that slowly, incrementally, but consistently has been increasing its size, scope, power, and influence so that we now have a sizable portion of the population dependent on that government. They want government to become richer, more powerful, and more intrusive to force everybody into the society they want which they assume will be beneficial to themselves.

They don't understand that there has never been a government in all of history in which the people have not had less of everything as the government became more powerful and authoritarian.

These are people I really met. They had to train people to read. And this was a roofing company. The guy thought he was getting a threefer..lots of business because of hurricanes and cheap labor...along with low taxes. What he got was uneducated people, roads you couldn't travel on if it rained or at night and electricity that was unreliable. It wound up costing more then it was worth.
