Tarp vote hurting candidates

How about those who were against the GM bailout?

Starting to look pretty good right now

 I just laughed soda through my nose!!!

(Ouch!)

US will make a profit and GM is paying back 5 years early

The world did not end like the rightwingnuts said it would and we helped save the manufacturing backbone

:clap2:

GM repaid its bailout from the taxpayers by dipping into a separate pot of bailout funds and that's somehow a good thing? More soda through my nose!!!!

Starting to look pretty good? They paid back the loan with other money they received from the government - and are projecting an operating loss.

The only people to whom this "looks good" are the UAW and the politicians they support.

Look, the free market is the religion of the wingnuts. No matter how much suffering, joblessness, homelessness, and deaths it may cause. The free market is the ultimate unquestionable goal in and of itself.

The total destruction of America is negligible as compared to any violation of the free market.

It is their God.

So what's the point in discussing it with them. They will find out that the free market is not and never will be the religion of the American people, that it is a means to a goal and that when it fails (and it has) the American people are very willing to replace it with a more workable system.

The ultimate goal of the American people is democracy and the dignity of the individual.

It's far more likely that a Dem vote for ObamaCare will be far more damaging than a GOP vote for TARP in 2008. You are also neglecting the fact that more Dems voted for TARP than did GOP members.

GovTrack: House Vote #681 (Oct 3, 2008)

GovTrack: Senate Vote On Passage: H.R. 1424 [110th]: Emergency Economic Stabilization Act of 2008

no. it really shouldn't be.... because you people wouldn't have voted for dams.

and the people who do vote for dems think they should have done more.

far more likely you derail your own repubs trying to get only the wingnuttiest of wingnuts into office.

It's the moderates that will make the difference.

40% of voters have no affiliation. It's very likely that a large portion of them will turn on incumbents who have supported the expansion of Big Government. The GOP ones will be vulnerable - but the extent to which they are depends upon the profile of the Dem candidate. If the challenger supports Obamanomics, a GOP candidate who voted against the Stimulus and ObamaCare will be in a better position. Just my opinion.

The biggest issue for the election is unemployment. If levels are high in November (which is the most probable case), Democratic incumbents will be the most punished group at the polls.

The Democrat Hat Trick of TARP, Stimulus, and ObamaCare is much worse than just a vote for TARP.

Just sayin'.
