Kinda/sorta. Target like most European owned operations think NYC, LA and sometimes Miami or Toronto is Anglo-America. The bathroom issue is just one of many unforced errors by management, the most famous one but not the only one. Walmart is using superior logistics to take on Amazon and Target is just road kill.

It was just the final sign that Target didn't know the American market. Try buying cold cuts at Target vs. Wal-Mart and taste which is better. Europeans are less into cold cuts as a quick food except in Germany.

Target aimed for a niche and failed. They used to be more of a general retail much like Walmart, but Walmart carries a larger variety of products cheaper. Simply can't compete here.

Welcome to the new age of "home delivery". While I don't agree with your walmart assessment, I can say with the demise of the big box stores, malls will soon be a thing of the past. The fact that Target was thoroughly hacked, had infinitely more to with their decline than any kind of hootenanny boycott.
